Moving around at La Défense

Those of you who follow me on Instagram may have already seen that this morning I went to La Défense, the little Paris "Manhattan", in other words an area of Greater Paris, full of skyscrapers and mostly dedicated to business (even though there are also apartment buildings, a huge pedestrian area, gardens, fountains, and... the only shopping mall in Paris open on Sundays!). I like La Défense very much, as I said it many times, for it's both modern and traditional. Proof is that people use their bike to go there and move around ;-) Have a nice weekend everyone!

  2. I've never seen a bike locked onto a pole like that before. :) It's really different!

  4. I'd be scared to leave my bike alone in the street (locked into street lamp of cours). Is is safe?

  5. @Ann "Avagoodweegend" isn't there a "mate" missing at the end of thos? LOL Stereotypes, I know ;-)

@Kristie "I've never seen a bike locked onto a pole like that before" Actually I think it is forbidden. But what is the police going to do? Wait for the owner of the bike??

@Winski "One of my favorite places just to hang out and enjoy being in Paris…" Not to forget the view!

@Magdalena " Is is safe?"As long as you have a very good lock yes! In fact I'm not sure, I know there are lots of bicycle thefts in Paris.

  7. Interesting, I always thought the 16th arrondissement was more the equivalent to upper east side...

  8. I think you can see a lot more sky in La Defense than you can in Manhattan! (Although to be fair, I've never visited either place in person. Merely a guess on my part.)
