Like I told you two days ago, yesterday I had a meeting in Le Marais (one of the oldest areas in Paris, that was previously a... marais (swamp)), in a short term rental apartment, to interview the owner (I'll show you the result later!). I tried to take several shots of what makes a Marais apartment so typical and I could not resist taking one of the staircase! I love the perspective effect and the color of the stairs wood!

I love your staircase photos!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Makes me look forward to your upcoming posts about this place.
ReplyDeletethis looks like a Paris staircase that was shown on a popular television series in the U.S. called House Hunters International - I just saw the episode, like two days ago! I wish I knew if it was in Le Marias.
ReplyDeleteI bet there are very fit people living on the top floor too!
Very typique! Is there a timed light that invariably goes off before you make it to the next landing, for extra authenticity? :~}
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I really appreciate these lovely interior photos - it is tricky to see anything like this when visiting Paris.
ReplyDeleteDon't overlook acquainting us with the numbering of the floors. For this American it was a shock to discover floor "one" is not the ground floor and for us, the first floor is actually the second floor to a Yank!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming staircase! And I love your perspective on it.
