Today is November 11, the date we celebrate the end of WWI even though there are no more alive veterans from that war. The previous years, I posted several times about Maréchal Foch, the one who signed the armistice with Germany on November 11, 1918, but this year I chose to show you the Pathéon in front of which they hung French flags. As you can see, it was a beautiful day in Paris...
The building looks stunning, to say the least, and the flags are well suited for it.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! Two houses up from me there lives an WWII veteran named Lloyd. He is 93 years old! You have inspired me to go and take a portrait of him tomorrow. Happy Veterans Day!
ReplyDeleteA very fitting tribute -- and excellent photo.
ReplyDeleteI love veterans. Thank you for picturing it with a nice light.
ReplyDeleteVery patriotic—and fitting to honor the veterans. Love the way you composed this shot. (Wouldn't mind some weather like that next week!)
ReplyDeleteI watched much of the festivities on France 2 et 3 today. Very moving ceremonies. If I keep watching these I may actually learn the words to La Marseillaise some day.
ReplyDeleteReally? La Marseillaise ?
