Horse power
You want to know what we do in Paris to fight global warming and pollution? We switched back to horses! OK, I'm kidding... And though this is really a man on a horse that I photographed this morning (Sunday) in front of the Galliera Palace (that I already showed here). He was not the only one... Dozens of horse riders and carriage drivers did the same. Why? Because they were all taking part in a big march to celebrate the opening of Le Salon du Cheval , a big fair dedicated to horses. And a special thank you to Serge, who emailed me to let me know about this march and who maybe in the other photos I took.

I wonder if anyone was making use of the free fertilizer left behind after the event?

How beautiful to see that horse there in the city. I hope it did not hurt him to run on the pavement. It must have been a neat event!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Wayne
What a beautiful horse - I love the action of his tail swishing - no split ends on him... ;)
ReplyDeleteThat building behind is so intriguing. I love how they change the panels.
Nice shot, Eric. Children and adults love to see our equistrian policemen in our city. I have never been able to photograph them because they're gone before I manage to turn my car around to capture a shot. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see a horse in the city!
ReplyDeleteWhat goes around comes around. About 100 years ago the authorities in London were relieved to see the car was catching on and usurping the horse. The pollution from the horses was causing great problems, blocking the drains and impeding traffic.
ReplyDeleteI really like this photo, Eric, but j'ADORE ton animoto video! Simply FAH-BU-LOUS!!! I felt as though I was there, and the track keeps galloping through my head. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful horse!
