Faironika, the fair cow...
Let me intorduce you to Faironika (a play on word with Veronika), a cow that symbolizes "Le Lait Equitable" (fair trade milk), a concept invented by Austrian milk producers. The idea is to give 10 extra cents per liter to milk producers who respect certain rules : no genetically modified food, strick respect of their quotas and... commitment to publicize the "brand". I suppose that is what the were doing today on the Champs de Mars by the Eiffel Tower!

EIFFEL TOWER!
ReplyDeleteEIFFEL TOWER!!
EIFFEL TOWER!!!
MUUUHHH!
ReplyDeleteMUUUHHH!!
MUHHHHH!!!
Suzy I bet that's the cow's version of yours EF!
Eric you bring us such great photos and aspects of the parisian daily life.
What can I say? Once again, thank you!!!!!
I think that's the real reason I never really feel like I left Paris, PDP has a way to make us daily connected to the city.
ReplyDeleteFrom Cali often asks me if I'm missing Paris already after leaving it last June. Well, of course I miss it every single day. But at the same time I feel like I'm always there, or in fact, Paris is always in me. PDP surely is responsible for that feeling. Where else could we have know about a thing like this, a cow roght in front of ET??!!
Does anyone else feel the same?
I do, Monica! If I can't be there (sigh), then this is surely the next best thing. Also love sharing it with you and all the rest of Eric's Paris-obsessed fans.
ReplyDeleteSuzy was right there, wasn't she, with her fingers poised to say the right thing? Way to go, Suzy!
Thanks, Alexa. Sometimes I get lucky.
ReplyDeleteMonica, I absolutely feel that way. As a matter of fact, when I was actually in Paris I didn't feel any different than I do at home. I'm always pretending that I'm in Paris wherever I may be, and kept having to remind myself that I was really there this time!
MUUUHHH!
MUUUHHH!!
MUHHHHH!!! <<< so funny!
AHA!! I knew you girls would feel the same.
ReplyDeleteParis just stays under our skin doesn't it?!
;)
Monica and Suzy, I think you express the feelings of most of us who have so enjoyed Eric's PDP.
ReplyDeleteI love the skew in this shot, Eric. The cow is fun to see, and wholesome milk is so important to women and girls' health. . .especially keeping hormones and growth chemicals out of the animals' feed. Very fun to see!

I love, love, love, the cows of France! I remember sheep on the Champ de Mars - a whole flock of real ones. I love that France is so adamant about its agricultural sector. I hope it can survive, better yet, flourish. Farmers are truly struggling everywhere. People seem to forget that we need what they produce to stay alive!
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a stray from the cow parade!
ReplyDeleteMonica: I feel the same about Paris/PDP.
Well, it looks like we're all in agreement—so why is it we don't all live in Paris?? (Believe me, I'm slowly but surely working on it, and of course wondering why I ever left in the first place.) Meanwhile, I'm getting a kick out of your photo, Eric—and also happy to know what a cow says in Portuguese.
ReplyDeleteFrom the left, Faironika is a 'Caine. From the right, Francais.
ReplyDeleteQuite amusing photo. The Lady and the Lait.
Hahaha, Monica!!! Good one!!
ReplyDeleteA cow, in Paris? My oh, my, I know someone who's going to be interested in that!
Did Jeff just say, Lait, Lady Lait? No, I guess not.
ReplyDeletePoor Faironika looks like she could use a good milking, dear creature.
That's a great angle, Eric ~ and a great way to ensure that the cream floats to the top.
ReplyDeleteDitto to all ~ I haven't been to Paris yet, but in many ways thanks to PDP and the friends I've made here, I feel like I have!
Yay, ET Suzy!!
LOL, USelaine!
What a creamy er dreamy picture. I love your angles Eric, and the way you find the most interesting things to take photos of.
ReplyDeleteAh! «Louis» is proud to see this!
ReplyDeleteI hear about all the farmers' protests going on there. I hope things get settled soon so they stop wasting so much food! :(
ReplyDeleteLOL USElaine! Oh-oh - look at that - lait across my big brass bed! 80)
ReplyDeleteMust be a farming protest! ;)
Hi Louis!
ReplyDeleteI support that austrian matter.
ReplyDeleteRegards

ah! une vache et la tour!! j'aime tous les deux!!
ReplyDeleteAlexa now I'm intriguid. I thought the language of the cows was universal!!!
ReplyDeletelol sweet...
ReplyDeleteUSElaine made the joke my brain didn't reach. I could only be alliterative at that hour, not clever. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great photo to study the details of the ET. Very clear definition.
ReplyDeleteOh la vache!... So Faironika is a French Fair female, isnt'it!!! Lol
ReplyDeleteOmw to Geneva for my company, I'd picture well this cow with a red dress and a white cross in the middle... Faironika with a Swiss accent could be funny!... I'd think of that tomorrow :)
First the hay, now the cow....where are the other farm animals, hitting the cafe's?
ReplyDeleteSean
A red and white and blue cow none the less!! Do they know about "cow tipping" in Paris??? Zut alors!!
ReplyDeleteLouis la Vache...LOL!!
Why does the Eiffel Tower have netting on it??
ReplyDeleteI'm probably wrong, Janella, but I always thought it was a suicide barrier.
ReplyDelete@Suzy. Yes you are right it's a suicide barrier. It does not always work though... Remember this?
ReplyDeleteI'm late posting tonight, let me work on my photo du jour (well, de la nuit now...) real quick.
Eric, you are so dedicated to your readers! Thank you. We love you, too.
ReplyDeleteOh I think there was a little (HA!) Parisian demonstration about le lait when we were there this summer. This is a fun shot Eric, a milkshake???
ReplyDeleteShell, you've not been? Well girl, let's get us up a big blog group and take over Paris sometime! ET Suzy, and the rest of you, join us s'il vous plait!!!
We will of course, be Eric's harem! :) Oh, and Louis, you're included as well!
V
LOL, Virginia! That's a grand plan!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to highlight the perfect framing of Palais de Chaillot "inside" ET's arch in Eric's photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot!!!!!!!
