Last evening I had a meeting at a pretty cool café, near Les Halles. It's called Le bon pêcheur, the decors is really very Parisian and so are the waiters (all dressed up in traditional outfits, including a cap (you can see one on the left by the cash register). They are very nice and friendly too (which is not very Parisian LOL!). If you notice the heater in the foreground is on... This shows how cold it is in Paris at the moment!

For once I can say it's warmer here: 95 F (35C). Wow. I have been inside at work all day, but now I get to go out and enjoy the heat.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Paris cafe, but my friend's restaurant is waiting for me, which isn't bad.
What restaurant is it? In Minneapolis?
DeleteCafe Maude in Mpls. There are two: one on Penn Ave. South, and one at Loring Park.
DeleteUmm I'll have to give it a try!
Deletestill freezing in Ct with the furnace on, this wacky weather. It is a cool looking cafe. Anne
ReplyDeleteWacky weather is the right word!
DeleteWith the zinc bar top and the neon lighting, very Parisian. I do not find most staff in bars and restaurants particularly unfriendly. Occasionally takes a little bit of effort to get them to :-), but it's usually worth it.
ReplyDeleteIn fact you never know. It's like the lottery... You may sometimes pick the right number!
DeleteI will definitely visit this bar the next time I'm in Paris. Which might be in January. Well, when you have an invitation to le Réveillon de Saint-Sylvestre in Provence, you think twice about turning it down.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather be cold in Paris than here on Long Island! it is unusually cool here too - and this place looks like the perfect place to warm up.
ReplyDelete; )
It's cold in NYC too? Mid May? OK, so I suppose I should not complain!
DeleteYou make it look very inviting!
ReplyDeleteWe have had a few warm days I'm happy to report. Skål!
