Art in the street

I love it when the Fiac (Foire internationale d'art contemporain) takes place in Paris for not only do art professionals get to meet and trade, but the average Pierre gets to see art everywhere. They have "Hors les murs" (outside the walls) installations everywhere in Paris and it's really great. I will show you several ones, but to start with, here is a gigantic installation called Magna Mater by the Chapuisat brothers that I photographed in the middle of Les Tuileries gardens. Beautiful.

  1. Having people in the shot really helps establish the scale of the work. Nicely shot!

  2. Really good photos the past few days. I like the Square des Anciens Combattants d'Indochine and the zinc roofs. This art event looks fascinating as well. -Jeff

  3. This is just one of the reasons why I equate Paris with art (of any and all kinds). Looking forward to more!

  5. A perfect compliment to IM Pei's pyramide. Nice shot and nice angle.

  6. "The average Pierre". Not Jacques, as in Trader Jacques?

  7. Well, it's certainly better than the Sexmas Tree. Has it been reinstated yet?
