Time to change... time

Here we go again... like every year Europe (except Iceland) switched to Day Light Savings time (heure d'hiver). Which means we're going to sleep an extra hour! And like every year, the whole thing is very controversial: 54% of the French are against it, according to a recent poll. I'm not one of them, I like it (but more in summer of course...). Anyway, here is a photo I took especially for the occasion at La Pendulerie, a store specializing in antique clocks. They are all amazing.

  1. USA: Next weekend. Except for Arizona (except for the Navajo Nation, which DOES observe DST) and the US territories (which also don't observe DST). Whew! Where does the time go?

  2. Quite a lovely clock. We have it coming up as well in the same weekend as the Americans, except Saskatchewan, which never enacted daylight savings.

  3. Thanks for reminding me it's next weekend, Sasho.
I've decided that since I can't do much about it I won't care one way or the other, though it often feels to me like jet lag for a while.

  4. Why are so many French against it? Too much trouble to reset their clocks twice a year ?!

  5. For us it's next week. Nice to wake up when it's light out, but not so nice having to come home in the dark.
