The Da Vinci Code is being filmed in Paris...

... And thanks to a friend of mine (Stéphane, who already took this great picture), here is a sneaking preview of one of the scenes! It's a stunt in the streets of Paris where, apparently a Smart car is being chased by the PT Cruiser. The image quality is not very good (I am not complaining Stéphane!!) but it adds to the atmosphere! Do you know when the film is to be released?

  1. Yikes! I have not even read the book yet! Many people tell me that it's terrific, but some also tell me that it's really pretty trite, and not great literature. I guess I have to find out for myself (not everything I read has to be Proust)!

I just checked the Da Vinci Code on the Internet Movie Database, and realized that:
    1. It's directed by Ron Howard (a plus)
    2. Great actors: Tom Hanks, Audray Tautou (whom I did not like in A Very Long Engagement, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina (don't know him), and Jean Reno.
so, that sounds promising. The film is supposed to be released on May 16, 2006.

  2. > Rock & Elisabeth. Thanx for checking the date. You may not agree exactly on the day, but at least the month is the same!

I did not read the book myself, I suppose I will (half the world has!) or wait for the movie.

Elisabeth I am like you I did not like "A Very Long Engagement" (un long dimanche de fiancaille) except for the special effects that allow you to see Paris as it was probably at the begining of the century - well last century!)

  3. Eric and Elisabeth,

Another one here who did not like "un long dimanche de fiancaille". It was a LONG movie, but agree that the effects were really a great way to step back in time.

Yes Eric, you should read the DaVinci Code. The other books were good, but not as good (in my opinion).

  5. The Da Vinci Code is the book I am reading right now. I am only at half the book but untill now, I really enjoy it. And I'm impatient to see the movie, also because I am a big fan of Audrey Tautou.
