Wandering outside Le Louvre

It looks like snow but it's only water... Water from a fountain located in the square courtyard of the Louvre (click here to see it on Google Maps). Nothing much to say, I just like the effect. PS: don't forget tomorrow is December 1st, time for a City Daily Photo blog theme day...

  1. Brings back wonderful memories of my last trip, and stimulates remembrances of all the little details, so many of which one flies-by.

It really looks like snow, though.

  10. LOVE IT! OMG I adore fountains...well, I adore water. I'm a very water person. It's my zen, as a couple people already know. So this pictures is thrilling and calming at the same time. Which is nice after the day I've had. You need more pictures of water, Eric!

By the way and speaking of snow: Our high temp today was nearly 70f. Tonight it's supposed to plummet to 35 or lower and the freezing rain and sleet start. Tomorrow our high is at or below freezing and we're do to get 6 to 8 inches of snow. Some forecasts are even predicting a foot!

Can't wait to see the results of theme day.

  11. Hi Soohsa@! Where have you been? Right now, at 10:30 p.m., it is 65 degrees. Perfect I say! But not unusual for Atlanta in November. The temperature fluctuates a lot here in the Spring and Fall! One day it's cold, the next it's warm.

Perfect scenario for me: 300 sunny days per year, Day - 75-80 degrees
    Evening - 55-65 degrees
6 weeks of winter with lots of snow!

No places like that on the planet...I've looked. I'd move there in a minute if there were.

    What's ideal for you?

  12. Superbe Eric...vachement superbe!

Right up my alley as they say!

  15. One of your best photos!
    EXCELLENT INSPIRATION!

  16. ... and i thought it was only we, the English, who talk about the weather!

I can report that it is fine and dry in middle England, with clear skies and a gentle sunrise. Feeling is mild.

This shot is truly inspired. The fact that all the figures are anonymous only adds to the enigmatic quality.

It's very romantic, or is it? The couple on the bench - are they Russian agents, one saying cryptically to the other "The Dog Is Behind The Bush". ?

  17. How have I lived without your blog for so long?

I've just discovered it — and it will help tide me over until I get back to Paris (counting the days).

  18. Well, it was snowing big flakes here tonight, so when your photo came up on screen, it did fool me for a second. I love the way the woman is tucking her head. . .makes it seem she is dodging rain drops. The water gives such movement and life to an already wonderful scene. Kudos!

  20. Considering my location, snow looks good to me, so I'll just pretend it is snowing in Paris...Oh, look at those big flakes...not two of them alike...and the couples sharing their body heat...
    Nice shot, Eric.

  21. Great timing. We are supposed to have snow tomorrow here in Lexington. Meanwhile, drizzle and 60 degrees F.

  22. who would of thought it is water from fountain?!

  23. Great snow like rainy fountain. Looks like a movie. Wonderful shot Eric.

  24. wow Eric, you need to keep warm and you also need antispam for ur comment ;p...I like this photo, nice mood as your favorite b/w snow photo last year!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh no! Please don't use that anti-spam thing...they are so annoying. Half the time you have to enter it in at least twice before you get it right. And, it seems you only get one per month anyway. Can you just delete it?

    ReplyDelete

    ;o))

  27. For theme day - we just upload it to our site in the normal way, yes? Don't need to do anything else?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Lynn, you are really nervous, n'est pas?

    Unlax!

    ReplyDelete
  29. lol! M. Benaut Nervous? Me? Mais Non! Course not, silly. I just want to join in and i've no idea what to do since i only learned of theme day yesterday! I'm totally clueless really. lol I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's efforts, especially Eric's. Oh and Kuala Lumpur, whose photography is just amazing, i think. Why do you not do a DP M. Benaut?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm sure i shall be merely an observer this time and will join in next month when i know more. I'm too much of a novice at DP yet. Either way, it's fun, is it not?

  31. Nasty is being nasty again, oui? C'est bon, c'est elle, gg. Hi, nasty, good to see you.

The Cour carre is a fascinating, if somewhat barren place. I suspect it was much different with all the brilliant colors of clothing, feathers, and coaches.

Looking forward to your theme day, bloggers.

Oh--it's winter in Minneapolis. Ten degrees F, (-12 C). Dreaming of Cannes in April, Paris in May.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Lynn, merci. Je pense sérieusement cela.
While you lot are having winter, here in Oz du Sud, we are having high 30's.
It was 47 celcius in Coober Pedy wednesday.
Happy first day of Summer to all and for northerners, joyeux hiver.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks M Benaut that's what we really want to hear as we shiver in our beds tonight. lol. only kidding it's not too bad where i am. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Brr!

  34. Comme tout le monde je me suis fait avoir, j'ai cru que c'etait de la neige, c'est super joli!

  35. Absolutely beautiful photos! I don't live anywhere as picturesque as Paris, but these are nevertheless something to aspire to. Paula, UK
