Buenas noches Hombre!Cela donne envie de partir en vacances...
There is a site I found that has Mexico in Paris.
Grrrrrr.Used esta mucha rapida
Oooh! J'espere qu'il n'est pas tue. Are you sure he is asleep?
Yay Guille! Was worth eating your pudding in a hurry and throwing your guest out early huh? LOL Well done, GF!
Quand même, on croirait qu'il fait 30 degrés à Paris, c'est de la publicité mensongère LOL.He he Phx-cdg, estaba mas rapida que usted! No grito, no pretension, solamente: Yeaaaaaaaaah!! Lo merezco.Soy muy cansada... Hasta tarde.Goooooooold Fingeeeeeeer!
Thx Lynn, but I'm not like that: he's already gone! (f***ing public transports ;) )
My God Lynn, what a morbid thought!! Well, you're right, I did not pinch him, so I cannot be sure LOL.Good night ladies, I'm on my way to le dodo!
he he i know, Guille. Shame. Invite him again.
The site Hoboinparis.com has an article Mexican Paris Wed. Jan. 23,2008,and can be found under articles written by Mollie Coyne. She mentions the Mexican Institute, restaurants and upcoming events such as the Mexican Orchestra which came to Paris.
LOL it WAS morbid, yes, Eric, i admit i shocked myself! However, how strange huh to find a random chap asleep on a bench like that? Perhaps you must return to give him a pinch. Le Dodo? Qu'est-ce que c'est ca? Dis-moi stp!
Ahh, this brings back fond memories of when I too, once napped in a potted plant (I was much, much younger at a wedding and had a few too many glasses of wine... Plus my potted plant was much larger and therefore more comfortable :) Qu'est-ce que c'est "le dodo"?+ cheeks are too pink to be dead (trust me, I'm in the crime biz...) more likely he's had a few too many. L'absinthe, peut-etre?
he he i really meant to say dead, which would be slightly less alarming. I could not recall 'mort' at the time and 'tue' popped into my head.
le dodo? to sleep!!Kids' expression. "au dodo!"Pont girl, in the crime biz?? THAT IS MORBID!!
Eric Ne me quitte pas! Le 'Dodo'?
Eric est au dodo Lynn, il faut le laisser tranquille maintenant. Imagine-le aussi heureux et calme que cet homme au chapeau de paille...je vais faire pareil d'ailleurs.
Ohhh thanks Guille, that's a sweet expression. Je vais au dodo aussi. Pont Girl that's very interesting, though i think i knew it before, you have mentioned it? What area of crime? I am interested in it too. I used to be a barristers' clerk and it was always the criminal cases which were most interesting to read.
Ok I realized that I address you as "tu"...
Oui Guille, c'est un image tres agreable, mais peut etre dans un lit! Eric n'avait pas beaucoup du dodo hier soir! Bon nuit, Eric.
Is that pot in the back? (OK I'm kidding)
Hahaha! J'espère qu'il dort (et qu'il n'est pas mort)! Peut-être que tu devrais retourner a cettre endroit, juste pour etre certain...lolBon dodo, je suis certaine que tu seras plus confortable que le gars dans la photo :)
How do we know he's Mexican? He looks Alaskan to me! Fun photo, Eric. Nighty night! I'm sending you a virtual back rub to send you into dreamland.
I remember a lullaby from French class, where we sang "Fais dodo."This picture is kind of sad. Maybe he's homeless? I know it's been warm-ish in Paris, but still it's cold at night, isn't it? The man looks like he's cold. Poor guy.
My mother used to sing us that song..Fais dodo, Colas mon p'tit frère,Fais dodo, t'auras du lolo.
Bless you, Anne! You've even brought the tune back to my head. It's a sweet sound.
Congratulations on being chosen as one of Blogger's Blogs of Note! (You should have been given this honor some time ago!) Thank you for all the great photos, and the inspiration for us to do the same!

Eric fun photo! that bench seems pretty cozy to me right now, my eyelids are closing and I just feel like crashing anywhere.Hi girls! I've missed you yesterday, but I'm afraid today won't be able to check in much either.Guille, it's better to say "Estoy cansada" and "Hasta luego". If I recall you said you studied Latin right? It must be very difficult. Where did you study it, university?"Au dodo", so cute!
Eric, you have a gifted eye.
"Blogger" has recognized PDP?!! WELL DONE, ERIC!!! You're only competing with *millions* of bloggers out there! Congratulations!
As far as I'm concerned, those millions are no competition for PDP!
Love all your photos and I love PARIS. Thanks!
Wow! You got a fast move to catch such a special photo (although is zzzZzzz...)But after xploring ur blog, found you got all the picture are very nice!Keep it up!!Greeting from Asia!
Monica hi! Of course "estoy" and not "soy" (it's not a permanent state so I had to use "estar"). In Barcelona they say Hasta tarde, but they donc speak Castillano pero Catalàn. No lo se.I studied Latin during 3 years but I was young, something between 13 to 15 years old. I studied Spanish too but I'm ashamed, I don't speak it anymore. When I go to Spain, I speak after maybe 2 days, but righ now, I'm unable to say more than 1 sentence...what a pity.
they don't*, lapsus...
Yeah, great blog! Bookmarqué direct!
nice blog :-)
When I nominated PDP for Blogs of Note (I am sure I wasn't the only one) I didn't realise how much it would affect us.Imagine all these people coming to the site and trying to fighting for the GF Award, or the Number 1 Fan crown!I m not sure if I am sad or happy!
Beautiful blog! I love Paris! In may I stay here one week: it's my birthday! I hope you post a lot of picture, so I will know new place to visit!Sorry, my english it's so bad!!!Eli
looks restful like there is no noise
Happy Birthday Starryeli!Wow lots of new people what fun. Congratulations Eric on being a Blog of Note, which we knew already of course.Suzy you make me laugh and envious! Quiet in the background you suddenly creep in with the perfect Eric message! We are all so busy fighting and competing, we don't notice you sneaking past us into Eric's close radius.Guille me too. Hablo espanol solomente un poco hoy, desafortunademente.
Lynn, how did you know about Blogs of Note and I didn't???
lol no Rose i meant we already knew the value of Eric on here. I have no such inside knowledge i am afraid... sigh...
Not much to say today, you write?Makes me think of Louis XVI writing "nothing" in his diary at the date of July 14th, 1789!JUST SAW THAT PDP IS BLOG OF NOTE!Hey, at last comes the recognition of over two years of talented and dedicated work ! Congratulations Eric !
Bonjour Tout le monde,Hello Eric, tu sais que j'adore ton site, et je ne manque pas un jour...mais aujourd'hui, il faut que je réagit par rapport au texte du photo. As most everyone is at least English speaking, ...I will give my two cents. You say this photo reminds you of Mexico. Well, let's see , there are 2 major themes in the photo, plants and a man sleeping. Plants like this could remind people of many places, Bali, Bresil, even the south of France. So I have to assume that the sleeping man is what reminds you of Mexico. Why is it that whenever there is a sleeping person one thinks of Mexico? I am always up for a good joke and can poke fun of myself, but some stereotypes (like the French not bathing) are neither funny, nor no longer appropriate. The Mexican in the sombrero taking the "siesta" is one such stereotype that should be beat down. California, and much of the southern part of the US would stop FUNCTIONING if it were not for the labor of Mexican workers. A large percentage of family construction in villages all over Mexico has been made possible by the money that family members from the other side of the border have sent. Mexicans are no more lazy than other cultures and take naps probably as often as the French take two hour lunches. One thing is for sure, they do the work that few other people would ever do...The photo would remind few of Paris, this is true, but the caption has nothing to do with the photo. A bientôt Eric, et continue à prendre des belles photos...Cordialement, Elizabeth
Perhaps it is simply the piece of material looking a bit like a sombrero, Elisabeth?
By the way, where do people 'see' that PDP is a blog of note? I've not seen it anywhere. I'm obviously not visiting the in places.
If you go to your blogger dashboard it will be on lower down on the left
hi!mu name is marilisa.i'm an italian architect.i love your blog.so i will do a post on mu blog, writing abot your eyes on paris, the most brillant city in the world.love matilisa
Thank you Rose. What would i do without you?Guille i've added a bit on the bench post.
Elisabeth, Eric probably thought about Mexico due to the sombrero don't you think? And the fact that in Mexico the weather is so hot that people take a rest during the afternoon, as in lot of South countries (even in France!). To me, there is not link to do with the stereotype of laziness...Lynn, I don't understand...:S you added what?
Congrats on being a Blog of Note!Keep up the good work!Carolyn
Found it Lynn, I've added a bit on the bench comments too (it's definitely the place to digress!).
Je m'appele Vicki. I'm South Africa, 18 years old, and is taking a gap year. I'm also taking French classes so that I can go to France sometime this year...I've heard so much about it and would love to visit Paris and the little towns surrounding it...it's my dream!Thank you for your beautiful blog. I will add it to my favorites. And congrats on being chosen for the "blogs of note"!Au revoir,Vicki
Eric, I just saw you on mentioned on Bloggers of Note on the first page of www.blogger.com. Many congratulations! Well deserved.
Yes, of course, congratulations on being blogger of note, and, for this photograph. Nice work.
Congrats and thanks for all the great photos. You are truly an inspiration.
Well, I did not know what this blog of note was, but considering the sudden jump in my stats, it's really worth it;)Thank your Mr Blogger ;))And a warm welcome to those visitors who discover PDP for the first time. Come again, it's a nice place to vedge out!
He may be dreaming about his family.
What a great blog! I am from the US and I visited Paris this past summer. What a great trip! I love how you capture the every day life rather than typical post card photos! It is these little moments that bring back the most memories...
Hi, First time commenting, did anyone mention: metro, boulot, dodo.......?
Congrats on being a Blog of Note!Great site:)
Guille I don't agree with you, I think you speak spanish very well, you are very very inteligent and I know everybody here agrees. Lynn's spanish is very good too! You are right, I've been to Barcelone last year and I found catalan a bit impossible! And so is the language they speak in País Basco, when I went to Bilbao I almost thought I was in Greece cause I've never seen such a strange language. What a great thing so many new visitors to PDP. Girls I think we better behave and don't embarrass Eric... well maybe we will embarrass him just a little (with the best intentions, of course), after all, that's who we are and we can't help it, right?!
Goodness look at all the new fans you have now! The girls and i had better watch out. They might all join the race to be first commenter at midnight or just before. Oh... have i let it out? .... ;)
Lynn!!! It is bad enough without everyone knowing about it!You will never be GF again... nor will I :(
Lynn and Guille I added a little comment on the bench post too.Oi Rose! :)
very nice blog ;)superbe vision de paris ;)bravoLyyN
Heu...thx Monica but to be honest I absolutely don't deserve this compliment. Really. No feigned modesty in my answer. Lot of people speak English or Spanish an so much better than me!Fortunatelly, in Barcelona they also speak, but with reticence, Castillano...You're right about Basque/Basco, it's like no other language.
A third Lynn, Lynn, you're lost... :)
I'll keep PHX-CDG. I am having trouble finding bench comment. Help.
Wow, I just can't believe what's been going on here since I was away! I agree, this guy looks like he's wearing a sombrero, and to see it in Paris is amusing.
Guille and MonicaYour English is great and I am really impressed. I know how hard is to reach the level you two have reached. Well done.Yes, Michael, the Others have taken over...but we welcome them, don't we? :)
congratulations on making blogs of note......your photos are wonderful and now on my blog roll
That is me sleeping!
Phx-cdg. Il faut mieux chercher ;)I'm kidding. Look at a spring title.Thx Rose! :) But trust me, we can't guess that you're not English either!!
Rose: Oh sorry did i do wrong? :o lol!Guille, how mean. I thought you were my partner in crime too... maybe another Guille will turn up he he.Michael Michael! You are back! Oh there is so much catching up for you to do. Please tell me you will make the effort. It is worth it, huh girls? Snigger.
Why did you say that Lynn?! About the "third" Lynn or what?...
Yes the third Lynn, you were teasing me! I'm only kidding, dear Guille.
I enjoy your photos very much. I am glad to have found your blog!
No Lynn you didn't. I always think it is best to be second amongst many then first amongst few ;)Whoever wins will get their money worth it because I will fight and get lots of GF and prove to everyone that I am the ONLY Number 1 Fan :)
lol Bring it on!
So then, who's...yawn..........around for the race?......actually i'm quite tired i don't think i'll be able to manage it. Why don't we ALL go to bed early tonight girls? Come on, we need it....agreed? okay then off you, i mean we, go ..... ;)
I am out of the race tonight.Quite tired tonight and my husband is home so early night for me ;)Good luck girls :)
Maybe he was bitten by one of those african bugs (tse-tse)??!!! Sleeping in Paris during a beautiful day??? He must be crazy!!!
I love your Blog! I will be traveling to Paris in the next few days to visit a friend and I can't wait to see all the loveliness that is Paris. Looking at your pictures just makes my me yern to capture my own. My two favorite pictures are todays (man sleeping on the bench) and the books on the Seine. Your photos capture the very essence of Paris I wish to soak in and take back with me.
Yes the books, i love that one too. Makes you just want to be there doesn't it. You will be, lucky you, Blondelittleshit. Hope you have a great time.
I was afraid stewside was another FLIGHT ATTENDANT.... went to his site...wheew, just a guy named Stewy.
A little comment for Elisabeth who reacted after I mentioned Mexico in this photo.I agree, I used a typical stereotype, this guy could be anything, as people from all nationalities take naps! And like you, I don't like it when I hear we take two hour lunches or don't bathe. Now, should I fight stereotypes by writing something people would think is incoherent (such as "I did not dig out an old photo from a trip to Sweden") or come up with what people expect to read?I chose the second and you made me realize how conservative I can be sometimes, even though I do not like to think of myself as such!
Nonsense Eric! You are great! How many times do we have to tell you that?!You are great, you're blog is great and your posts are great. There. Don't ever let anyone tell you convince you of the contrary.
Congratulations, Eric! You deserve it!
cool photos! very refreshing angles!reall appreciatable! well i wondered if you are interested in linkswap! The Tech Thing - Venkat
Cool photos! Very refreshing news!Really appreciable! Well i wondered if you are interested in link swap! The Tech Thing - Venkat(http://pluking.blogspot.com)
Please Eric, you've got the worng impression of Mexico! Have you been here at least once? Yes, the photo is funny, but not the comment.
Vicent, you should not take it as a bad thing. A lot of people think of Mexico as the perfect place to relax :) because of the warm weather and the way people are so friendly and welcoming.I have been to Mexico a few times and love it...:) and trust me there is nothing better than your burritos, mojitos and a siesta ;)Hasta luego!
Vicente, don't underestimate the difficulty to convey one's self in another language either. I'm sure Eric meant it as a compliment.
Actually like I explained earlier, I can understand you do not like the association "Mexican=always asleep" like I don't like the association "French=always carrying a baguette and a beret!". And I suppose the English don't like the association "English=always carrying an umbrella" and the Americans "Americans=always speaking loud and ignorant about the rest of the world".These are stereotypes and like all stereotypes part of them are true or have been true at some point.I happen to have been to Mexico and I don't recall having seen anyone sleeping in the sun with a big sombrero!
The subject in the photo DOES look like he's wearing a sombrero, which gives him the look of a person from Mexico.I think this Elizabeth over reacted about stereotyping. Here in the U.S. we are having a big problem with illegal immigrants coming from south of the border and it's a heated debate. Some, like Elizabeth do not think we can function without them and take offense at the drop of a hat, or sombrero in this case.I think the description of the photo is fitting and yes, quite an unexpected find I would think!
Thank you for bringing me closer to Paris!
"Some, like Elizabeth do not think we can function without them and take offense at the drop of a hat, or sombrero in this case." Spoken like a true red-neck.
