Let's start the week from anoter riverside point of view. I took it Saturday evening on a way back from a dinner party in the 15th, from the Pont Mirabeau bridge (this time I remember the bridge I was on!). There is not much to add, is there?
Once again I'm reminded of the book of woodblock prints of "The Thirty-six Views of the Eiffel Tower" by Henri Riviére, 1902. Here is the link: http://www.artsmia.org/bonjour-japon/ The location of the view in each print is labeled.
Fun project with all your spare time? (Hah!) Try to recreate Riviére's views with photos. You may be able to publish it.
As my office is on the left bank, between Pont Mirabeau and Pont de Grenelle (i.e. just a few hundred meters from were you took this photo, Eric !), this is the view I have every evening when I drive back home... ... but I've never been able to take such a great shot !!!
this picture is spectacular! It may be my favorite yet of the tower!

When I was there a few weeks ago, she had her head in the mist... She is so elusive and I love this night shot, Eric!
ReplyDeleteBises,

ReplyDeleteMammie

N'importe quoi !!
Pourquoi "n'importe quoi" ? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLe problème, c'est qu'en voiture, je ne peux pas m'arrêter, alors mes tentatives de photos sont toutes floues !!!
So, so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis is incredible, Eric. If I passed this on my way home from work, I'd burst into tears each evening.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Suzy. Absolutely lovely.
