Busy crossing

Technically it's far from being a perfect photo; it's blurry and dark... And though I love it! It allows to "feel" what a busy crossing in the middle of rainy Paris feels like. Not to mention the typical Parisienne on her bike in the middle! Bonne semaine everyone... Paris will be rainy this week, but still as beautiful ;-)

  1. Actually, Eric, I think it conveys perfectly the feeling of dread I feel when I'm on a bike in traffic. And yet it's Paris traffic, so entirely worth the risk to life and limb.

  2. I like it. Technically perfect photo don't necessarily make the perfect shot. Er... I understand myself, so I guess that's what counts ;)

  3. Wow, is she wearing a sweater? OMG, she is going to be "soaked to the skin" (an American saying: Drenched, extremely wet, as in a downpour of rain). It's raining here too in San Francisco. :)

  4. I like the busy feeling of the photo. As for riding a bicycle in Paris traffic, I think I'll stay on my feet!

  5. I love this photo, the cream colours within the dark are perfect.
I agree with Petrea and I will never be seen driving anything in Paris.

  6. That's an evocative photo for me and I like the framing and motion capture.

What's the location? I can place it.

    Thanks!

  8. It's lovely! (and it is raining here in Northern Michigan too!! We had an "ice day" off school around here because of rainfall and cold temps. So strange!)

I love the lights reflecting off the wet pavement. Makes you feel a part of it.

  9. Gorgeous photo. It's got the mist, the light, the action, the architecture -- everything I want to see on a rainy night in Paris.

I could stare at it for hours.

    Thank you for this.

  10. I really like this pic - a perfect capture of a Parisian winter rush hour. I can feel the weather & the darkness & the mad dash to get someplace warm with a cup of vin chaud in one's hands. I hope I won't get myself in hot water (again), but this is exactly one of the scenarios in which Paris feels just like New York to me - I once expressed this to a French man I barely knew who then gave me such a withering look of contempt that I never repeated it again! (til now) ;)
