There are about 10 million Swedes in the world. Some of them are in France and in Paris in particular where you can find many things Swedish, like the wonderful Swedish Institute in Le Marais or... the Swedish church at rue Médéric, (Svenska kyrkan) where I happen to have attended a Christmas concert 2 days ago. It was really stunning, even though I did not understand a word of what they were singing! Of course I could not help but shooting like crazy. See for yourself (and enjoy the soundtrack!)

such a gorgeous, peaceful scene. it warms my heart to see this picture tonight as I live in Connecticut where there was the most horrendous crime commited this morning involving innocent children. may we all find peace and love each other.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. (I'm still reeling about yesterday's pic, though!)
ReplyDeleteI am one of those Swedes! And I absolutely love Lucia although I haven't experienced it "at home" for 18 years! The pics are fantastic Eric!!
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention the Swedish shop Affären where you can buy all necessities an expat Swede could possibly dream of! (Metro Pigalle)
Fantastic atmosphere! I will also try to visit the Scandinavian church here in Athens too, if there are such concerts!
ReplyDeleteTy for the beautiful morning melody Eric and Scandinavian friends! :)
Glorious choral sound, Eric.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to echo Anne's comment here. "such a gorgeous, peaceful scene. it warms my heart to see this picture tonight as I live in Connecticut where there was the most horrendous crime commited this morning involving innocent children. may we all find peace and love each other"
ReplyDeleteI so fully agree and thank you eric for the beauty of the soundtrack and photos with all candles, specially peaceful within the tragedy.
I'm surprised all these sweet Lucias weren't more distracted by the man with the camera down there at their feet! This is stunning—as was yesterday's, which I'm only seeing now. Maybe those Santas will also take part in the SantaCon today (here in NYC it's basically a pub crawl).
ReplyDeleteA nice, peaceful experience. And the glow of candles in a church always is mystical.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. And the music was lovely too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Thank you, Eric, for the sight and sound of peace.
ReplyDeleteJust like being at home!
ReplyDeleteHehe, I was one of those Lucias ;)
