Miniature Eiffel Tower war!

I went out yesterday! I went out and had a nice walk in Paris, only to find out that the miniature Eiffel Tower war is not yet over! Everywhere you can find a vendeur à la sauvette (street hawker) that will sell you for 1,50 € a small ET replica that you would buy for twice this price in a real store... The police is supposed to chase them, but judging from what I saw yesterday, they are not doing a great job ;-) Maybe because there are more important battles worth fighting for in the streets of Paris?!

  1. Sorry but, what happen with those miniatures?
Are they different from the usual miniatures?.

  2. My parents brought one back- I don't know if they were official or not- when they went to Paris. I wonder where it is...

  3. I agree, there's more important work to be done. And I'm glad I got my little Eiffel Tower, though I don't remember if I bought it on the street or not. Probably!

  4. At first, I thought this was a game of Chess!
If I ever get to Paris, I must buy one!

  5. There are so many "heavy" things to think about in the world nowdays ..... maybe something like this takes our thought to another place and brightens things up a bit. Just a little way to bring a bit of Paris home. :-)

  6. Maybe the cops are stationed on the foot bridges. No love locks!

  8. As long as they're selling ETs and not "love locks" (though I've never bought anything from the street vendors). Glad to see that you're out and about, Eric!

  9. Eric; I was on and around the Trocadero last Sunday and I was quite astonished to see that you can buy THREE mini-ET's for €1.- ..... mind you, the vendors were all having this crazed look in their eyes, looking out for the police! And all goods were ready to be carried away in the fraction of a second on their towels with pull-handles along the sides! I feel sorry for them; how BAD to have make some cents this way (although I know fully well that they have no right to do what they do)
