There are exactly 8,481 benches in Paris (who counted them?!), that is roughly 1 for 260 people, which is not too bad considering the average Parisian does not really have the time to sit in them, during a normal day. I photographed this one in the avenue Foch, once called l'avenue du bois (woods avenue) for it leads to the Bois de Boulogne. Not much to say; I just like the looks of Paris benches!
Now you've got more than one person, no doubt, wondering how many benches are in their home cities.
ReplyDeleteIf each bench can accommodate four people, there is a seat on a park bench for about 15% of the population. Not bad. -Jeff
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is sad, it is just a beautiful song (a nice text from a father to his daughter). As soon as I hear the ten first words, I melt. Yes,some songs have the most beautiful power on lives. And it is obvious that it concerns far more songs than Mistral gagnant even if this one is quite special. I recently revisited some songs that deeply moved me. Life should be only music and dance... Anyway, I wish you a wonderful Mistral gagnant for Mistral is the name of a warm Wind in the South of France.
And it reminds me of that other song, sung by Georges Brassens: "Les amoureux qui se bécotent sur les bancs publiques . . ." But you probably wouldn't see that in this upscale neighborhood. :~}
