Reflections

Here we go again... Today is the 1st of the month, therefore a theme day. Today's theme is much easier than the one of last month: reflections! I waited until dark, thinking it would be easier, but not really... I ended up on the Place de l'Etoile with my scooter. And the easiest I could think of, was to take a photo of the Arc de Triomphe in the mirror of my scooter. Check the reflections of the CDP community throughout the world by clicking here.

  5. I agree with J Bar...very creative, Eric. I'd recognize the top of L'Arc even if it were reflected off a monk's shaven head...okay, I might be pushing it with that one. Hey, I like the evening perspective. Merci, and be careful around that roundabout; those French cabbies are ruthless. ;-)

  6. Great choice, Eric! Like Coltrane, I have to say that I would have recognized this particular structure no matter how little of it you showed us. It's true—Paris reflections ARE the best!

  9. I did not visit the Arc when I was in Paris (for shame, I know!) though we drove by it on a tour through the city, later walked all the way around it looking for a night club. What was striking to me, was how dangerously trafficked the roundabout was during the daytime, and yet, at night we crossed all those roads going 'round it and only three or four cars in sight the whole time! It really is so much more beautiful at night! Although on my next visit I will definitely go atop it and for that I assume daytime is best.

  10. ...I imagine there were men in black cars following him and a black briefcase to be delivered to a secret location, and yet our hero in a split second managed to creat a masterpiece......

  11. Fun shot with the traffic whizzing along in the background. Only you could have brought us this night vision in your scooter mirror.

Great photo Eric - a little peek at the wonderful Arc.

  13. A good choice and one that could only be captured in Paris.

  14. At first I thought it was a magnifying glass. As usual, you give us an interesting perspective!!!

  15. That's beautiful. I love that you left the scene outside of the mirror too.

  18. An icon...almost.

Martin's comment is funny. What was the movie in which the photographer unknowingly photographed a murder? A 1960s English film. Vanessa Redgrave...

  19. Very creative. Do I love it ? Hmm, artistically, yes! But the Arc de triomphe is much nicer in front of us, rather than behind, isn't it? ;)

Just kidding! Of course, the shot is great... :)

  20. @Martin ".I imagine there were men in black cars following him and a black briefcase to be delivered to a secret location, and yet our hero in a split second managed to creat a masterpiece....." You're on drugs LOL!

Hey Flore, long time no see ;-) Glad to see you back.
I know you must be busy at work these days...
