Good old French Food!
I'm not Bill Gates, nor a business angel from Silicon Valley, but from time to time I enjoy encouraging young entrepreneurs who have the guts to start their own business. That is what I did for Marc Thouvenin, founder of Regioneo.com a site that promotes genuine French food from the "Terroir" (Provinces). He helps local producers finding customers on the web. Last night he made a little gathering to thank those who invested in his company , but I made sure I stayed away from the fattening stuff and sticked to the organic carrots and cucumbers!

Hello Eric!!!
ReplyDeleteThat food looks gorgeous. I love the way he's cut the carrots.
I just had a thought...humor me for a moment...thanks to California's community property laws, I own part of a computer business in Silicon Valley; does that make me a "business angel in Silicon Valley?" I could use that term on my resumé.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big believer in "buying local." (No tomatoes shipped all the way from California, thanks—the Californians should be enjoying those.) This looks like a great idea, and I hope it's a big success and that you see a return on your investment. Those crudités look good!
ReplyDeleteOkay...where is the chocolate??? Chocolate is very French and can be organic....Hmmm??? If wine is served with it...it is all good! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteYummm. Nice photo of fresh veggies.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, what's that fattening looking dip to the right, Eric?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that does look delicious. And good for you in your support of Marc's venture. Local/regional food is an idea that will always be good and benefit everyone concerned.

This is very cool! I had no idea you did that!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo
ReplyDeleteI too went to an event tonight. http://www.faccsf.com/Events/WWWjune2010.htm
The event tonight was at the ParisSoma loft -- it was fun, interesting and profitable. We are all working together trying to make something that makes sense (and money) during this financial crisis (it's not over yet unfortunately).
A lot of creative energy. And the wine and food were excellent!
We could really do with a branch of this company in the UK! It would help those like myself (photography) starting from scratch. Perhaps Marc would like to explore that?! The food looks delicious, fresh and rustic. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI remember you starting to get involved in this, Eric. It's a great idea and I'm sure you ARE an angel. ;D
You stuck (sticked, Eric??) :p to the carrots and the cucumbers, really? What do I see just behind? Is it Caviar de tomates, caviar d'aubergines et terrine de campagne? Tu nous la fait pas à nous. :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds absolutely gorgeous, exactly the kind of food I like when the weather is as warm as today...
What discipline.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful arrangement, even though these are not my favorite veggies. My daughter and son would have a field day here! (I have a son who would rather have fruit, grapes in particular, than cake or anything like that. I once had to bribe him to try a cookie --he wanted 9 grapes for it!)
ReplyDeleteChristie, your comment made me laugh. Your son is a good negociator :) Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteEric, I'm missing a bit these days but I always check PDP every day. I'm failing where you never do... I'm not proud of me ;)
