Tous au restaurant!

Interesting initiative that a lot of French restaurants have taken once again this year: between the 19th and today (September 25) you can go to a selected number of restaurants with your other half (or just anyone actually!) and pay only one meal instead of two! It's called "Tous au restaurant" (everyone should go to the restaurant) and it works in more than 1000 restaurants throughout France, including some haute cuisine ones, like Le Carré des Feuillants or la Maison de la truffe for instance... Check for yourself on the website!

  1. In England this would be called a BOGOF, buy one get one free. "Tous au restaurant" has more class.

  2. *guffaw*
Love that BOGOF ... here in the antipodes we are most pedestrian and call it 'two for the price of one'. Not that our restaurants do it. But I did go to our main art gallery in Sydney (AG-NSW) on Friday night and they had a 'tous au musee'.

  3. I absolutely love this photo Eric. Looks like it came out of a cooking book or magazine article.

What do you think they call it if you're just "1" but you can eat for "2"? I could benefit from a deal like that!

  5. That sounds great! Usually here in the States, you need a coupon for that, and it is never in a place you would really want to go. So, where did you end up visiting, Eric? This photo looks amazing. I'll take that plate. :)

  6. Your photo shows off their very clean kitchen. Two for One, aren't Paris'restaurants just the greatest in the world.

Speaking of food and kitchens, yesterday, I discovered a designer of kitchen aprons, mitts, gloves, etc., all with a French flair. I just love the designs. Here is a link to the site -- I think next time I will buy on-line as there is way more variety. http://www.jessiesteele.com/kitchen/collections.html?limit=all

I bought two square mitts in the "French Toile" print http://www.jessiesteele.com/french-toile-apron-set.html I just had to tell you because this designer, Jessie Steele, I think, has a good idea going for those us us who like to cook, are into nostalgia, and France.
