Toyota takes over the Louvre!

Funny scene I came across this morning at rue de l'Amiral de Coligny (the one that leads to the PDP picnic location!) right by the Louvre; no less than 157 little Yaris Toyota exposed to the public. I don't know exactly what they planned to do with them though. Give them away after a giant sweepstakes?! Maybe I should have stayed! PS: this is NOT a sponsored post! There are NO sponsored posts on PDP!

  1. I recognized the place in the photo and immediately envisioned walking to apicnic from the Louvre Rivoli Metro station. Ah, I miss Paris.

  2. Its a little odd, since I just assumed these were new cars related to some kind of sales gimmick, that the car closest to the camera looks damaged. Maybe I was making assumptions. Maybe there's some special significance to the number 157. Maybe its some kind of art installation. Maybe they got beamed up through the pyramid. So many possibilities...;)

  3. Maybe...nope, I've got nothing. Were they all red? That is interesting in itself. I don't really care for red, I prefer blue, silver, or green myself. But, you know, if someone wants to give me a car, I can suffer with a red one!

  4. Carrie, I don't think that's damage on the car, I think it's reflections. You're probably right that it's a sales gimmick, or maybe they're filming a commercial.

  7. That's a lot of red cars in one spot. I'm glad that you didn't get one of them, because I'm sure you wouldn't be able to photograph as mush and as well from a car.

  8. This is a promotional event, before the official launch (Sept., 15th) of the 3rd generation of Toyota Yaris.
They're all the same color, called "Rouge Stromboli".

  11. Thib -- what a name for a car color! Now I'll forever be seeing rolling stromboli, stuffed with all manner of ingredients and trailing just a wee bit of tomato sauce, every time I see a little red car on the road -- whether or not its a Toyota!! Hee hee. :)

  16. I love it! I do work for Toyota in the US, and I wish we would get as excited about these small cars here in the States as Toyota France seems to be.
