Jungle Paris

Here are two scenes of Paris that are both hard to imagine and fascinating: The Pompidou center on the left and the Eiffel Tower on the right, surrounded by the jungle! I found these two photos at an art gallery opening last evening and I really loved them. They were made by Chris Morin, an artist who likes to depict present places hundreds of years from now, just like we can now visit ancient sites that are surrounded with trees and plants and partly destroyed. Very interesting. See other places on his site.

  1. The pictures are fascinating, but the shadows from the light behind the pictures is dazzling! Always something special in your pictures, Eric! Thank you, once again!

would the city council of Paris have been inspired for this:

  6. Most of the animals seemed to have escaped from the zoo. Presumably, the zoo keepers had the presence of mind to unlock the cages just before the human race was 'mysteriously' wiped out. (those gazelle type things could be next)

Climate change also seems to have taken an unexpected twist, with icebergs in Manhattan, albeit co-existing with luxuriant green vegetation.

OK, it's a bit of fun, but sadly we won't be there to check it out. :(

  8. I am sorry, but your predilection for these photographs, 'escapes' me, but hey, what about it!

Let's get back to 'real' Paris!

P.S. Any photographs of Parisian railway architecture?

  9. A few months back on the History Channel they had a series that showed different cities and what they could look like after mankind had "disappeared". It was kind of eerie.

  10. Fascinating! I especially liked the one of the Brooklyn Bridge with all the vines. In fact, I walked across the bridge this morning—and didn't encounter one single giraffe!
