It was an Okay day...

It was almost summer in Paris today and it really felt good! I took advantage of it to have lunch at the Okay café, a pretty secluded restaurant located at the end of Le canal de l'Ourcq where you can easily forget you're in the middle of Paris! Well when I say middle, it's not exactly true as this place is located in the 19th arrondissement, an area which is pretty ex-centered. But, I would still recommend it. Especially for its stunning wooden terrace...

  2. even "almost summer in Paris today" sounds wonderful in midMarch. What did you have for lunch????

  3. This is one of those photos that really should be maximized to appreciate the beautiful view of the canal. I have never heard of this canal before - thanks Eric & bon weekend.

  6. I presume the bars are there to stop Parisians who do not wish to pay their bill from jumping into the canal and swimming to freedom! Although it is recommend that you do not swim for at least an hour after eating.

  7. Wow I can just say wow. The photo gives a feeling of exceptional atmosphere. I do not know if it really is on ythe spot ! But it is certainly very nice to have a lunch appointment of any kind in its program and enjoy this relaxing view. However, it is the company that counts the most and on that side, no doubt that the company was excellent ... eric! unless the pressure of a business was involved!?

  8. With those bars on the window, it reminds me of Alcatraz prison, looking out and over the bay.

  10. The Villette area, the canals, and that great bridge with the cable hoist pulleys, I love all that. The photo of that bridge on PDP of years ago is one of my favorites. I printed it and it hung on my office wall to prove to the civil engineers that infrastructure can be beautiful.

  12. Happy St. Patty's Day! And a belated Birthday Wish to Alexa! Here is definitely a room with a view, Eric; although, as one blogger above noted, the bars on the window are well...not what I would choose. I'd open it up, but then I don't know the layout of the building. Perhaps, it's a safety issue "thang." In any case, what a lovely place to dine. Glad the weather is nice in Paris as my USA friends are in France as I write this.

  13. Happy Birthday Alexa!

This is tranquil and lovely. I hope they give Eric a free lunch for promoting their spot. You're so right Monnica - its so nice to look out the window as you enlarge the photo. The armchair rails also echo the watery theme - they look like sailboat ropes.

  14. The window seems filled with bars. But I assure you this is not St Patrick's Day. Yesterday was.
