Pont Royal!

I know you're going to say I'm spoiled again, but this is what I saw last evening when I came back home. This bridge is called Le Pont Royal and it leads to the Flore Pavilion that I already shown once here. It's the 3rd oldest Paris bridge; it was built in 1649 "the first time", as it burnt in 1654, then was destroyed by the current in 1656, then again in 1684! Or course at that time it was not made of stone, but of wood, which apparently was not really suitable for a bridge LOL!

  2. Of course you're spoiled. But you're worth it! (And you share it with us which makes us spoiled too and .... I'm sure you know the rest.)

  3. Thank you, Eric - this is wonderful! I live in the Midwest, and therefore relish the idea of something built in the 17th c. ... everything is so very young here, in comparison. :)

  4. Yes, you're spoiled. (Good thing you have us to remind you!) This is gorgeous, as the lights draw you in. *sigh* :)

  5. It looks cold there--cold and beautiful. I would trade warm weather for a walk across that bridge on such a beautiful night.

  6. We are spoiled too when you share your Paris with the rest of us, and don't think that we ever take your huge work for granted.

  9. Another late night? At least you didn't wake up on floor of the Metro!

    Very pretty photo. It must have been a pretty walk home. (Or scooter ride?)

  10. @Jeff. Scooter!

    @Petrea. Not it's not too cold, but I agree it looks a little fuzzy (cold uzzy). It's because I took this photo with my small - not very good - camera at night.

    @Magdalena It's not spring yet, but it's approaching. I won't miss it!

    Don't really know why, but it reminds me of ... fortification... Maybe the fuzzy lights that look like chinese lights. No wonder where to find the most beautiful and unique pictures of Paris ; only here.
