A night at Theater Marigny

I went to the Marigny theater last evening, a beautiful theater located in the lowest part of the Champs Elysées (very close to the Elysée Palace, the home of the President of the Republic). I took this photo from the inside, on the 1st floor, during the intermission (or to be honest, while I was leaving, before the end of the show,  because I really did not like it!). The sign says "salle Popesco" (hall Popesco) after the name of a famous actress who died in the 90's at 99.

  2. Another wonderful photo! A photo of a building taken from inside the building! With people lingering outside for atmosphere. I remember seeing this theater and being intrigued to see something there - I think it had something outside about its history. Off to watch the transit of Venus now...!

  3. I love this Tenin perspective! I'm always impressed with people who walk out of a play or movie before it's over. I always stick it out to the bitter end, hoping against hope that something good will happen.

  4. Sorry you didn't enjoy the show, but glad you stopped to take this cool shot. I have to point out to Monnica that this is actually not the "famous Tenin" perspective we associate with you—but I really like this one too!

  6. I wonder what the couple is talking about? It is a cool picture, for sure. And Alexa, I would like to point out that Monnica did not say "famous Tenin" rather "I love this Tenin perspective!".

  7. This has a 50's style look to it I think even if I don't think it's from the 1950's. I want to say "Fellini" for some reason, even if I don't know much about his work. Love it Eric, whatever the perspective.

  8. @Thib. Récital Emphatique. Tout le monde était mort de rire dans la salle et moi j'ai trouvé ça insupportable au point de partir avant la fin.

Je me suis demandé pourquoi... Et je n'ai pas la réponse.

  9. I love it! A Tenin Reverse. :) It is a beautiful shot, so even if you didn't enjoy the production, I'm glad you left so you could bless us with a picture like this. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

  11. @Eric : tu n'étais pas "in the mood", c'es tout ! Y a des jours, comme ça...
Il ne faut pas chercher à comprendre ;-)

  14. Concerning my comment about this Tenin perspective, I meant what Christie said.

  15. I echo Christie's sentiments: Perhaps it's selfish of me but I'm glad you left early. Otherwise, we might not have this wonderful photo. I love it.
