Today in Paris, probably like in all Christian tradition countries, was a real nightmare. The streets were packed, the traffic was terrible and the stores were buzzing with extremely anxious people desperate to find a last minute gift for their family reunion of tomorrow and the 25th! I was one of them... But on top of that I had to take a few shots of Paris LOL! Here is one I took in a passage I visited near the Madeleine called Cité Berryer. I wish you all a very good Christmas - a little in advance, I know, but for once that I'm early LOL!
When the French give and get gifts? On 24th or 25th ?
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned, the raison d'être for the 24th December is to get the presents in. Why were you doing it so early Eric?! Tomorrow will be beautiful chaos/panic as usual, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteStrangely , Bloomingdales, a big department store in NYC was rather quiet today, so much so that I even commented on it to the sales lady.
ReplyDeleteThere are two kinds of Christmas celebrants: those who love the panic and those who avoid it. I like to get my shopping done before November so the holidays don't feel so pressured. I hope those who wait enjoy it as much as Sab does!
ReplyDeleteHi folks. I'm glad you're getting your shopping done. Just finished mine today, though I have very little to do compared with many people. I finished at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Always a good place to go on a cold Sunday. I hope your travels are going well, PHX.
ReplyDeletewell eric normally your standards are top noth but this one's a quickie sloppy shot
ReplyDeleteno disrespect
Why is it when you think you have got everything, you still end up having to rush out to get something on Christmas Eve?
ReplyDeleteAnother one of life's little unsolved mysteries. :-)
God Jul.
ReplyDeletePassez un bon reveillon de Noel Eric!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas everybody!
Merry Christmas to all and to you Eric !
ReplyDeleteLol Drummond I often feel like you said... :D
Paris high fashion: converse gym shoes! I just got back from NYC where I noticed lots of them there as well.
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened to taste?
You are right, little Drummond Boy!!!
ReplyDeleteLike Petrea, I like to get it done early. Never quite succeed but at least am not enjoying panic mode a là Sab. As PHX said, strangely quiet in the NYC stores—I was in Macy's last weekend and it was very crowded but no one was actually shopping (sauf moi)! Hope you (and all the PDP crew who are celebrating) have a très joyeux Noel!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Eric.
ReplyDeleteI wish a peaceful and Merry Christmas to everyone else too.
Joyeux Noël, Eric and everyone, wherever you are!
