I called this photo "Life on Mars", because it made me think of a constellation, but of course, as you can imagine, this is part of the Christmas lights that there are in Paris at the moment. At the Rond point des Champs Elysées, more precisely. I don't like it too much, except for the little shadows of the the passers by... Anyway, breaking news: there is a snow warning for tomorrow, so who knows, there might be some interesting shots to take!

Christmas lights don't please me, but the shadows of the passers by certainly do. I like this picture!
ReplyDeleteCool, I love Christmas decorations in Paris. I was there last year and I remember this very well.
ReplyDeleteI really love this one Eric. The people milling around the big bulb is cool!
ReplyDeleteRumor has it that Paris has two inches of snow! I hope you'll have a snow picture tomorrow - love love love Paris with snow.
ReplyDeletePS - Will there be a PDP calendar for 2013?
ReplyDeleteThis photo does resemble a constellation. The shadows of the passers by look like cutouts! It's pretty non the less!
ReplyDeleteThe lights are a bit futuristic and I prefer traditional when it comes to the holidays, but you are so right about the silhouettes of the passersby—great shot! (Be sure to bundle up if you go out to shoot in the snow.)
ReplyDelete@Greier "Rumor has it that Paris has two inches of snow! I hope you'll have a snow picture tomorrow - love love love Paris with snow." Rumor had it wrong. Actually they did forecast snow for this morning so I set my alarm clock to 6 o'clock hoping to be early in the streets. But all I saw when I woke up was... rain!
ReplyDeleteAnd YES, there is going to be a calendar. I'm just late. I intend to make it this weekend.
It's really not a good photo! Sorry, you can't win everyday LOL but thank you for your nice words ;-)
Tomorrow's one will be much better... Stay tuned!
Love the pretty lights..
ReplyDeleteEric, what are you talking about? This is a great pic!!! I think I like it because it DOESN'T look like typical Christmas lights but as you said, "Life on Mars.":) And the funny part is among the other worldly look, when you enlarge the photo, you see the matching blue bus sign! Bus stop on Mars. I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWe have some snow and pretty sharp cold here in the east of Scotland. The cold was accurately forecast, the snow was not at all. Good. I'm all for nature keeping us guessing. Even though the weather forecasters keep predicting the worst in case they miss something, they keep missing. I love at when artificially-programmed town-dwellers are surprised by weather.
ReplyDeleteGood grief! Enjoy.
I think the photo is wonderful, especially for the figures in silhouette. Nice exposure and colors, too. Keep warm out there!

Eric, this doesn't look anything like Mars. :)
