Sometimes you're just plain lucky! Yesterday (Friday), I had to pick up some video files in the 18th arrondissement. I started copying them, then realized it was going to take much more time than expected. So I went out for a while to see if there was a photo opp' in the neighborhood. I ended up on the top of Montmartre, just when the sun was going down on the Eiffel Tower and I took advantage of it to make a little time laps. You will see it one day (hopefully!), but in the meantime here is one of the shots... Have a good weekend everyone!

Looking forward to see the time laps! :-)
ReplyDeletethis sure was a photo opp - it is a stunning picture!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a big fire in the suburbs!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to have snow?
ReplyDeleteWith the stripe of golden yellow along the horizon, it reminds me of the fields of color in a Rothko painting.
ReplyDeleteMagnifique. We're lucky you have the eye to catch this.
ReplyDeleteTruly original and captivating!
ReplyDeleteI am struck by the size of the Tower and its alluring above the roofs, some of which I can easily identify, such as the Grand Palais.
I am amazed by the band, yellow, horizontal, rarely seen and the impression of watching the scene from the sky!
An angle that I could not remember.
Thank you for sharing the fruit of your walk! You did well to get out for a breath ... :)
Congratulations for the photo !!
It looks like the sun is so close to earth that it is causing a fire!
ReplyDeleteNadeem, about the snow. When I got out yesterday morning, there were only vestiges of the snow that fell at night. Every bit had melted except a little that remained on a motorcycle or car that had not yet moved.
Nadege, sorry. That was the IPad changing my spelling!
ReplyDeleteThats amazing and so clever to capture it. We had a beautiful sunrise here the other day but I could not get it on a picture.
ReplyDeleteI have now found I can comment from my new wordpress blog. Great.
I am getting that fuzzy feeling of anticipation now. I arrive in Paris Christmas eve. Thanks for keeping me going with your daily pictures. Much appreciated.
Love Denise (frombolton)
I agree with Cn--this photo has a lot of amazement in it. You can really look at it and still not see enough. I am thinking of having it framed;is that okay? And maybe I should send it to you to have it signed?
ReplyDeleteWOW!! So glad you decided to look for a photo op when you did—and I would love to see that time lapse. Bon weekend!
ReplyDeleteEric, this is stunning!
ReplyDeleteCaptivating shot, Eric. And the Eiffel Tower, Grande Palais, La Defense all in one! x Katie
ReplyDelete@Sunshine " I am thinking of having it framed;is that okay?" LOL Of course it is!
ReplyDeleteYes, I must say I love it too. And I'm eager to see the time laps version...
Great timing. Sometimes the light in the sky is unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteOnly one word comes to mind - Serendipity!
ReplyDeleteLovely! The clouds really cooperated with you, didn't they? :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing photo!
ReplyDeleteWhich part of Montmartre you were at?
I mean, near Sacre Coeur you don't have such view. Can you give a little bit of instructions please?
Thank you!
Ugh I just left a comment but I'm not sure if it reached or not.
ReplyDeleteShot looks amazing.
Which part of Montmartre that was?
