Commemorate what never happened!

You know how in Paris - and in many other cities of course - you can see on several buildings a plaque on which some important historical fact is reported. Like "this was the house of Victor Hugo" or "in front of this wall X people have been shot by the Nazis", etc. Well this one is much funnier! It says "On April 17, 1967, nothing happened here! It's a remain of an art "movement" that took place around 2002: "Celebrate non historical moments", was their (apparently they were two!) intention...

  1. Nice find! I wonder how much research it takes to reach such a conclusion?

  2. Some people have quite a lot of time on their hands and don't quite know what to do with it. At least I learn about Paris when I spend time looking at the ParisDaily Photo. :-)

  3. Love that tongue-in-cheek plaque, great movement! Let's hope for more somewhere, where nothing ever happened!

  4. Well given all the news I see lately, I'd say it's worth celebrating as "no news is good news".

  5. I was living in Paris on April 17, 1967, and I can verify that nothing happened there!

  6. I remember the other two plaques and I felt the importance of standing in those places. Sometimes it's nice to stand in an unimportant place.
