Geography reshuffled

This is an ad campaign currently running in Paris (and probably throughout France) to promote a mobile carrier (SFR) new plan for international calls. Basically, they claim to offer the same rates whether you call from France or or any other country in Europe... And to make it more obvious they sort of reshuffled the European map: Lyon - the second largest city of France - is now located in Spain Portugal, where Barcelona Lisbon generally sits, Bordeaux has taken the place of London and Paris is now located in Sweden, instead of Stockholm! Very clever idea.

  2. Amusant. Mais bon, c'est pas cette campagne qui va améliorer la réputation des Français en termes de géographie. Et pour commencer, un magnifique exemple : Lisbonne n'est pas Barcelone, même chez SFR ! Eric, you're much more French than you've ever thought !!!
    ;o))

  3. Interesting. Vodafone is actually running the same ad campaign in Sweden.

    I presume it's a global Vodafone initiative.

Love your shots of Paris - reminds me of home now that I live in Sweden.

  6. LOL! The English joke (at least I think they joke) that the French think that France is the center of the earth. This seems to prove that theory. :)

  7. > Pam. Aren't we the centre of the world?! Gee, what a disappointment! (Love you Tenerife photos BTW - did not see that many flowers last time I went there though...)

  8. LOL! Well, yes, sure anywhere is the center of the world if a) you want to believe it is and b) depending on how you tilt the globe. :)

Actually, if you look at the usual layout of a flat map of the world, the place that is really nearest to the center of the picture is the Canary Islands. Hahahah.

I'm glad you like the photos. Watch for les fleurs du printemps tomorrow. These ones have even surprised me.
