The Cartier Foundation
On Boulevard Raspail, there is La fondation Cartier (the Cartier Foundation) which is a fantastic place for modern art (don't miss it if you come to Paris!!). The building itself (check on their Web site), made by Jean Nouvel, is worth the visit. The magic starts at the entrance with this amazing tree and this huge pot (according to what I have been able to find on the Web it was made by by famous italian designer Alessandro Mendini, but I am not 100% sure. If somebody has the info...).

Tu oublies de dire que c'est un endroit minuscule et vraiment hors de prix !
ReplyDeleteGreat Flower (tree?) pot. Hope to visit next time I'm in Paris!
ReplyDeleteOh, la Fondation Cartier, c'est un des mes batiments préférés. Merci bien pour cette jolie photo.
ReplyDeleteYeah Patrick, but if you want quality, you have to pay.
ReplyDeleteI love this cache pot (flower pot). It looks like the tree is really planted in it and even on a rainy day, it brightens everything up around it.
There's a great exhibit on there at the moment with large sculptures that look life-like by Ron Mueck(sp?).
I love this space, i came all the way from London on the Eurostar last week to see the Ron Mueck exhibition that you mention - it was fantastic.
ReplyDeletei have seen this in person...Jean Nouvel is by far one of my favorite architects. I happened upon many of his buildings when I was was in France, and I love them all! Thanks for this!
ReplyDeleteEnfin un peu de couleur dans la grisaille de l'hiver de Paris! Superbe oeuvre d'art.
ReplyDeleteUn petit ooubli : le mur végétal de Patrick Blanc, visible sur la photo.
