What is the difference between yesterday's graffiti and today's picture? Well this one is an official fresco called
Coup de chapeau. It was painted by
François Boisrond in 2001. You can see it "live" on the
rue La Fayette, number 171 and if you notice there is a "
Vous êtes ici" (you are here) mention just like on yesterday's graffiti.
Un graffiti dans la rue de la Fayette ?! Quelle décadence !
ReplyDeleteBelle photo !
Hats off, indeed! I like it a lot when modern art blends perfectly with the already existing architecture of Paris, like right here!
ReplyDeleteOdd. I don't like murals. I'm opposed to them on aesthetic grounds. But I like this one! lol
ReplyDeleteFabulous photo- I was just going to comment on the 'vous etes ici' reoccurence.
ReplyDeleteassé surprenant. bon lundi
ReplyDeleteNice shot Eric! I wonder how they do those graffiti on tall buildings such as those!
ReplyDeleteBeen busy - catching up today. Your site is a welcome break from the rush. Wonderful! as usual. :)

ReplyDeletevery interesting mural. different from the ones we have here in brussels
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture. Today is my first day exploring these many sites. Please feel free to stop by mine when you all have a chance. http://kansascitydailyphoto.blogspot.com Now a question Eric, is that maintained by the artist or does it slowly fade?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more of these when I visit Paris next.
ReplyDeleteAnne, that's a good question! I was wondering the same thing myself.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is they probably use some kind of scaffold similar to what the window washers use and paint the walls by sections from a carefully designed pattern.
Very nice fresco! Like to see all the details.
ReplyDeletegé-nial!
ReplyDeletemerci d'avoir capturé cette fresque, et puis chapeau pour le blog, très chouette idée :)
