Paris in September

Everybody wants to come to Paris in April but I prefer September. It is generally quite nice at that time and it's also the period of the year where Parisians think "these are the last days of sunshine before fall, let's take advantage of it and have lunch on a cafe terrace". And I am no different... So here is the photo I made while I was having lunch at the cafe around the corner. Pure happiness!

  1. Ahhhh... I like that kind of pictures, looking up the top of the buildings. Very serene! Sounds like you had a near moment of bliss there. Paris does that to you if you can afford the luxury of just sitting some place and doing nothing else but taking it in. Good for you! :-)

  2. Love Paris in September too.
    L'Eté Indien I suppose...

Fyi, it's pouring rain in Sydney at the moment and it's bloody cold.
So, enjoy and take it easy...

  5. Ohoh, idea! I've been racking my brain trying to think of how I can get something done and then I thought of you guys, becuase everyone here is so wonderful!

I am working on a children's book. It's about a little boy and his mommy and I'm really not giving out any more details right now. Anyway, I need pictures of a woman with a normal body for the mommy (as opposed to my body, which is very large and not very good for a childrens book). The bodys will be photoshopped to be just a black silhouette against the background art of each page. Would any of you lovely ladies be willing to have someone take pictures of you that you could email to me? If the book ever manages to get published I'd give credit where credit is due, of course. My email is soosha_q@sbcglobal.net if anyone has questions or would be wonderful and want to do this for me!

Eric, sorry to go asking people personal favors on your blog!!!

  6. Oh the blue sunny sky with those sponge-painted clouds! I love the sun dog and the stop light, the lamp, and the overhang. Glad you are happy! So what did you order?

  8. What a day for a daydream,
What a day for a daydreamin' boy.
And I'm lost in a sweetdream,
Dreamin' 'bout my bundle of joy.

Ah, it's cold here, too, BV, but it will be warm by the end of the week. Summer ain't dead yet! And, hey, Eric, maybe I'll do a September trip next time, maybe it will be less expensive.

  9. In Chile we're having the same kind of skies, but instead of being the last sunny days, they're our first! Spring is arriving and weather is a lot warmer.

  11. Love this photo. Quelle Domage! (sp?) At least for the next ten years my Partenaire and I will never be able to visit Paris in Sept. He is a professor and always has classes at that time of year. We,too, wish we had a lovely cafe around the corner.

  17. Orb, The - Little Fluffy Clouds

What were the skies like when u were young?
They went on for ever when I lived in Arizona and the skies
always had little fluffy clouds and they were long and clear and there
were lots of stars, at night.
And when it rained it would all turn.... they were beautiful, the most
beautiful skies as a matter of fact, the sunsets were purple and red and
yellow and on fire and the clouds would catch the colours everywhere,
its neat because I used to look at them all the time when i was little.

Thought this song might be kind of appropriate (c:

  19. Great blog, great photos. This is what a blog should be about in my view. Something fresh and new, even if it's about a city as old as Paris. Great job! I will be back...

  20. Oh, I love Paris in September, but I almost love it more in October. The weather is a all mic-mac and the light is really changing. A lot of the tourists are gone, so in October it's nice to walk the streets with the locals.
