More street marketing...

Do you remember this photo with this very unusual advertisement for Ray Ban? Well it seems that Sony had a similar idea... To promote a new product they scattered "cling rites" - that is what these little "figurines" are called - throughout Paris (I shot this one at Bastille; you can see the column in the back). Of course some of these cling rites are winners and if you discover the right ones you can win a prize. Pretty clever but it just sucks they did not disclose the product yet, as they promised they would on June 15 on their official site!

  1. It's a good way of advertising though. Good day

  3. I don't know the ad but it's a neat photo.

Today I posted the Auction Barn.

  4. It's a weird photo, with all that misty clingy stuff - they actually plastered it over a shop front, or what? I'll have to look out for them. Could be a photo op, if it would stop raining here in Paris it would be quite good tho'!

  6. Eric, you're a wealth of information. Each day I'm learning more about Parisian life. Your "cling rites" are new to me but I can understand how effective they can be in promoting and selling a product. Love the Bastille Monument shot in the back. BTW...welcome to the States. Enjoy San Francisco...perhaps you'll leave your heart there as I have left mine in Paris. Miss the jazz on rue de la Huchette I believe is the street. Adios!

  7. "cling rites" sound like something left over in the toilet...

  8. Seb, you can tell exactly where this is...It's on a telephone booth in the Bastille. Do you see the column in the background? I only know it's a telephone booth because you see people plastering stickers on this one all the time when you come out of the metro there.

  9. Oh, well, if it's a phone booth then, who knows what's plastered on that glass?!! Yeah, you can see the bottom of column of the Bastille in the back. I like that part of the column.. that's pretty much the only thing you see when you're in a car, stuck in traffic, trying to get around it! ;)
