Place Vendôme ready for Christmas

Several of you have asked me for some Paris Christmas decoration photos, so let me start with this one, that I just shot a couple of hours ago on Place Vendôme (which I already shot from further away here). They scattered several candlesticks throughout the place and installed special projectors to enlighten the column in the middle. Really nice.

Oh mon Dieu, Eric - this is one of your finest!! I love the giant candlestick chandelier and how it illuminates the figure at the top! My last trip to Paris, I stayed at Le Lotti and had a spectacular view of this monument, however this one takes the cake! Merci.

When I click on the photo, it looks like the statue is being reflected onto the low cloud ceiling. Really a great effect!

Oh yes, it's a great effect - well spotted Michael! I have a photo on my blog which combines Christmas lights with gorgeous George at the moment, which is a funny link between this photo and the one here which caused so many comments! Still can't say I'm a fan (of the ads, the coffee's ok), and I still haven't bought the coffee maker, although my girlfriend's desperate for one for Christmas... the George Effect..?!
