Another portrait!
Thank you sooooooo much for your messages yesterday, you know you're all my fuel, if you weren't that nice to me, PDP would have gone dormant a long time ago! I'm just back from Normandy where I had a family gathering and I really enjoyed it, despite the obscene amount of food that was on the table! I don't resist showing you the deer that sits in the art gallery next to my building entrance ;)

Another "dear" like the Christmas one. Lovely, and the hat is very becoming.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Bibi.
ReplyDeleteI agree—you, too, are a dear, Eric! Hope you had a wonderful holiday! We are just about to have our obscene Christmas feast (I'm loosening the belt).
OMG! That could be my ex-sister-in-law! Except this 'deer' has more Christmas spirit than she ever had!
ReplyDeleteMerry Xmas and happy New Year. You definitely have an eye to capture the odd things going on around Paris. I have enjoyed looking at your photos, the straight ones, the crooked ones, the blurry ones, the soft ones and I loved them all. Keep up the good work in 2009.

Je ne suis pas loin de dire que c'est d'un goût douteux, but so Xmassy! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI prefer last night's portrait, Eric, much more handsome. You should have tried that hat, btw.
Bravo Bibi!
Alexa, bon appétit, fais attention à la crise de foi. ;)
LOL Wren! Wickedly Christmassy comment. Know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteEric you look a bit different tonight - or is my mulled wine a little too strong??
Okay, someone's been partying just a little too hard.
ReplyDeleteCould it be me?
Happy Christmas, all.
Pfewwww!!! You scared me!! For a minute there, I thought this was a picture of you. I know my eyesight isn't what it used to be, but ... ;)
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaaaaah. I think she's a very pretty dear.
ReplyDeleteOoops! DEER even! too much christmas wine. Hic...
ReplyDeleteLOL that Is to funny! at first I thought I was seeing Things
ReplyDeletebut no it's a deer .eric you have a silly
sene of humor.hope your Christmas was
relaxing &enjoyable. have a good rest of the week
Uhm...
ReplyDeleteHe is very very beautiful...
Is he a real (stuffed) one?
We're in Paris now and walked and walked after Christmas dinner to see the lights. We were so lucky to see the Eiffel Tower in blue and to see it start to sparkle at 9. It's heaven. More sparkles at the Hotel de Ville where we watched the skaters. Thank you, Eric, for the daily reminders of how wonderful and interesting Paris is.
ReplyDeleteThe illumination on the deer is just perfect. We had snow in this part of Oregon for over ten days and our first white Christmas that I can remember. I loved seeing deer tracks in the snow in our front yard....
ReplyDeletethis will be the first 31/12 that I have spent in London since 2004 - wish I could be in Paris with you and Karen.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the gorgeous photos
Happy Christmas Day Golden Paw, Bibi!! Its been so nice, checking in, to feel the camaraderie in everyone's comments throughout the day as I sit and open presents from loved ones. Here in LA the soft rain has given way and the sun is setting in Maxfield Parrish colors with velvety black silhouetted trees before it. Sweet and peaceful. : )
ReplyDeleteEric, you're so droll! And, I must agree with all the others: I love the deer, dear! ; )
The galerie looks like it has nice things - I wish so much that I could just pop in for a look.
Which brings me to this: today's been a crazy mixture of sweet and bitter. I have a map spread out in front of me and have been tracing the street locations of photos in some fantastic photo books on Paris that were given to me for Christmas - but, it makes me want to be there so much it hurts!!! I've been at it for hours and I can't tear myself away, but all it makes me want to do is pack up and move - I think I've reached some dangerous point of no return!! (And, I know I can't count on anyone here to talk me out of it!!) Oh, well, I'll just have to suffer on in silence. ; )
Too cute! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHow very "deer" of you! I'm glad you had such a lovely Christmas. Here it was the "best Christmas ever!" according to my children. It was awesome, I have to say. A good time was had by all!
ReplyDeleteCould you do it, Carrie? Could you? If so, why not?
ReplyDeleteMy, my, my Eric...What interesting neighbors you have!! LOL!!! What next?? A talking mule??? Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I think I had one of the best "Buche de Noel" I ever had last night.it was filled with a combination of dark and milk chocolate mousse!! It was absolutely incredible..delicious!!
ReplyDeletetomate..too funny!! When are the new glasses coming?? ;-)
Wren: your ex-sister-in-law? Wait, wait, were you married to my ex-wife's sister? Are you...?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Christmas is over in Paris, and almost over here at 22:50. Whew. Made it through another one.
Now, Eric, how did you know I've had visions of Prancers, and Dancers, and especially Vixens in my head? Ah, you're a sly one. And, well, maybe this means I'm of dubious taste also, Reine Guille?
Is it just moi, or is anyone else having a flashback to that gentleman that Eric photographed in another art gallery? Hum????? Well nevermind. Eric this deer is cute as can be.
ReplyDeleteV
I'm used to seeing these on some distant uncle's den wall or darting out in front of my car. Dig the neck gear and hat. This deer is ready to partay! It's got a lot of hutzpah or is that "hoof-spah" to be wearing such an Aerosmith rockin' outfit! lol Glad you had a nice time with family in Normandy, Eric. Do love this unique photo. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteVirginia, you are a rascal.
ReplyDeleteJust to say that I met another PDPer today: Lupine Lady came to the pub (on her niece Katie's advice!) with all her family. Saw them only 10 min but I hope they'll be back later...
ReplyDeleteI love this community Eric, thank you for that huge international thing you built.
Ahhhh - Petrea -- if wishes were horses - isn't that how it goes??!!
ReplyDeleteGuille & Lupine Lady, that is so nice. It warms my heart. : )
Lupine Lady, what fun! Guille, I'll come there too one day.
ReplyDeleteAlexa, :)
ReplyDeletePetrea, I hope so!!
Hi Eric
ReplyDeleteI looked at the photo for a while there... Could not see where you were coming from, thought maybe you had a strange guest.
Too funny! Thanks for all the great photos. Merry Christmas, Eric!
ReplyDeleteHello Eric! This really nice deer should tell you not to work so late, especially today...!?! :)
ReplyDeleteDid no one else mention that this must be Olive, the other reindeer? Gotta love her pearls.
ReplyDeleteGuille and Lupine Lady I'm sooo happy you got to meet up! Of course I'm jealous that I wasn't there to introduce my family to you in person Guille, mais tant pis.
Carrie next time I'm in LA we should sit down for a brainstorming session and figure out some sort of business we could run in Paris. I'm ready to pack up and move there too!
Minus the Parisian sense of style, this is how a deer-in-the-headlights looks, all right. Kind of scary in my neck of the woods. Drive sensibly, Eric.
ReplyDeleteKatie, you and Carrie are both in the law business. Americans navigating the French legal system? Or vice versa? There's gotta be a business there.
