Another discovery of one of these embedded masks that you can find everywhere in Paris. Let me remind you that they are made by
Gregos, an street artist who started posting white/blank faces about 3 years ago. He started introducing color at the beginning of 2009. I love them. I photographed this one at
rue de Picardie in the 3rd arrondissement.
Oh, the model looks malheureax. Maybe he just tasted Pied d'Eric, yesterday's wine!
ReplyDeleteOr maybe he dislikes my bad spelling. Malheureaux.
ReplyDeleteVery cool street art.
ReplyDeleteI like it! And I like Gregos' face—wonder if I would recognize him if I met him in person. :~}
ReplyDeleteMissed yesterday, but just went back to see the post. Have to say re the owner: quelle moustache!!
Like that mask also but never see any thing more interesting than original mask. love that post. you remembered me those days when i used to see Mask episode again and again.
ReplyDeleteHe looks a bit stone-faced no?
ReplyDeleteJ'adore this kind of street art, it's a moment of joy every time I pass one of these.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. The public seems to enjoy them. I hope the graffiti police are as appreciative.
ReplyDeleteDid no one else think "Han Solo"? I guess that's what I get for living with a 9 year old expert on Star Wars. lol
ReplyDeleteDo the circles with the line down the middle have a particular meaning? It is a very interesting piece!
my friend had one completed for her husband's 50th Birthday and had it placed on Rue de Navarre in the 5eme (where their apartment is located) but alas, this year it is missing... I think people take them. Shame as they are always fun to see...
ReplyDeleteEric, when I get to Paris, I will have so many new and interesting things to seek out and look for, thanks to you! You open up a whole new view of Paris.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the exciting blog posting! I really enjoyed reading it, you are a brilliant writer. I actually added your blog to my favorites and will look forward for more updates. Great Job, Keep it up.. :)
