It took awhile for me to see what it was. Its a photo - of other graffiti - taken at an angle to show the niches the paintings are in, the name marker, which looks like its in a wall, and the environment including pipe and other items, and plastered up here in this found frame in some building at Republique. The frame looks like it might have been meant to display a menu but I can't tell how big this thing is. I'm totally curious as to what the frame and building that it is in are.
I looked up Hotel de la Paix and found several in Paris, none of which seemed to look remotely like the wall in the photo. So, I'm totally mystified and not sure what to make of this. Is it a reference to something big in the news which I happen to have missed lately ... (its happened before)!!??
I passed by this graffito in July and also took a photo of it! It´s always love to see things on your blog that I´ve seen "de mes propres yeux". But of course I also love to discover new things thanks to you.
Been watching all the tributes this September 11th and it brings emotions up so strongly. Then, I think of all the terrible suffering people have endured since, as well as before, that day. Thanks, Eric, for posting this sentiment today. I want to echo what I said a day or two ago about PDP being a place where people focus on the good things in this life. If only the world were this hotel.....
Eric, thank you for today's thought. We will never ever forget the horror of this day 10 years ago. May the victims be at peace, their families find peace and world leaders continue to work for peace.
Jeff - I looked at the hotel website and the lettering looks really similar but the photo looks like its from a building that's pretty beat up, which that hotel is not. I don't get the connection - but it sounds like you do - can you explain?
Bless you all, bless the world.
ReplyDeleteNice sentiment. Wonderful photograph.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and really intriguing image.

ReplyDeleteMerci, Eric for your kind sentiments of PEACE-Freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Trocadero tribute photo, mon ami. We should grieve our losses, and work for peace, not for more hatred.
