Here is a little touch of Italy in Paris today... This cute little car is an Autobianchi cabrio (named after Edoardo Bianchi, the founder of the car company that started manufacturing this car in the late fifties), a pretty rare Italian car (apparently only 9 300 were produced!). I took the photo while I was driving my scooter which was not very easy, but I'm glad I managed - FYI, I took near the Hotel de ville (town hall).

Nice color in the photo, Eric! A little pink, some green, and the gray shades. It must have been overcast in Paris?
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you didn't crash the scooter while you were taking the picture!
Yes after a sunny period, the weather is now back to overcast and rain! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
ReplyDeleteOne of the biggest problems on the roads of the USA is people texting while they drive. Very dangerous to others. Bien sur, studies show that taking photos while driving a scooter is much safer!
ReplyDeleteTu es fou, mon ami!
CDG2FCO!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember ever seeing one of those.
ReplyDeleteYou mad Parisian - taking a photograph from a scooter??!! Lovely shot though and I would just love to be "zipped" through Paris in that car. x
ReplyDeleteIs this the same Eduardo Bianchi that produced the famous bicycles?
ReplyDeleteLove the angle in this shot...good pix Eric!
Maybe this car was going to participate today (Sunday) to the "Traversée de Paris", a bib parade od classic and vintage cars in the streets of Paris...
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing as Martin... since I happen to have a Bianchi bicycle, that made me curious! :) Adorable car!! (I can totally see myself riding down the streets of Paris in it. Anyone want to drive?)
ReplyDeleteLooks like Christie and will be fighting for the passenger seat. I love your fascination with fabulous old cars, Eric—maybe one day you'll have one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dangerous life you live just to please us!!
ReplyDeleteThank you but I am not sure it is legal.
I wouldn't mind driving through the streets of Paris in one of those! Sweet~
ReplyDeleteThat's a super sexy car!
ReplyDeleteGlad you spotted one.
Recently when I visited Paris, this app helped me out so good in Paris, you should check this out! Its an offline Metro RER map so I saved pretty much on Taxi and got lotta info on Tourist Places! And its really a cheap app too!!!

Nice shot, amico mio!
ReplyDeleteThe car license plate (BS) indicates it is from Brescia (italy).
But, in italin, we write "Parigi" (ok, we pronounce like pariggi...)
Vito S.
Thanks for risking life and limb to get this great shot, Eric!
ReplyDelete@Jeff " Bien sur, studies show that taking photos while driving a scooter is much safer!" LOOOOOL. I was not actually driving, I took advantage of a slow down in traffic!
ReplyDelete@PHX "CDG2FCO!" LOL. Well, probably not actually, as, like Vitolino spotted it after you, the car plate is from Brescia (next to Milano)
@Martin "Is this the same Eduardo Bianchi that produced the famous bicycles?" Yes, the very same one!
@Thib "Maybe this car was going to participate today (Sunday) to the "Traversée de Paris". Possible, but I doubt it. This one, on the contrary, that I photographed this morning at Place Vendôme was for sure!
@Alexa "I love your fascination with fabulous old cars, Eric—maybe one day you'll have one." Except that I refuse to have a car in Paris ;-)
@Vitolino "thanks for the info - and shame on me for misspelling Parigi!"
