A view on the Arch...

In December you generally have lots of company parties or so called "end of the year" celebrations. I went to one of those parties yesterday evening, the one of the Internet Manager club, the only French club I belong to! It took place avenue Mac-Mahon, one of the large avenues that go around the Arc de Triomphe. I could not help but taking a photo of course... Notice the ray of light, I think it belongs to the Eiffel Tower even though it's pretty far.

  1. There is something Sempe like in your photo,the softness, the vista and the life on the street. You are both my favorites.

  4. Ooh la la! Those night lights on the wet street leave gorgeous reflections. The angles, the bright Arc de Triomphe, the ray of light--Paris is beautiful all the time.

  5. As always another classic shot of magnificent Paris, Eric.

    The Arc de Triomphe literally took my breath away when our driver turned the corner and I saw it for the first time. There's something about that arch, the history, those French victories, that is so stirring. As well as the images of the American troops as they marched down the Champs-Élysées in 1945.

    Unfortunately, we almost died trying to cross the street to reach it. Ooh-la-la the language we heard from the drivers, yelling obscenities at us as we crossed the roundabout... we didn't know about the underpass.

    Joyeux Noel.

  8. Great shot. I can feel the soul of Paris,but why this first building on the left is looking different? Has it been renovated?

  9. Did you have to hang off a balcony to get this excellent shot? However you managed, you really captured the lights and reflections perfectly (and SO clear for a night shot). Can you see I'm impressed, Eric? :~}
