The city of love (and marriage!)

I know I already showed you a similar scene earlier, but it always fascinates me to see how many people - from China in particular - come to Paris, just to have their photo in their wedding outfits taken. Mind you I guess this is the only place in the world where you can have such a decors (you will all have recognized the Invalides dome in the background of course ;-)) As you can see, from the way the photographer and his help are dressed it was not that warm when I took this photo (Sunday), so the poor bride was probably very cold! But, you only get married once (well...).

  1. The forecourt of the Sydney Opera House is always adorned in a similar manner. I nearly said 'littered' which is closer to my true feelings.

  2. And sitting on the edge of the bridge scares me too. I did get a great shot of a beautiful young woman , perched there while her besotted friend took her photo. I didn't blame him. She was lovely.

Can't imagine dragging a wedding dress etc. all the way to Paris for a photo. Well in my tiny carryon, guess that isn't even possible!

    Great shot ET>

  3. Eric, im sure the bride did not even realize how cold it was as she has her love to keep her warm! I like the red in her dress and the groom's tie; it puts a nice pop of color in to your picture. If it was me having my wedding pictures in Paris I would definitely want the Eiffel Tower included

    Congrats to the couple.

  5. Having the Invalides in the background instead of the Eiffel Tower must be good Feng Shui! (They are both wearing some red for good luck).

  8. Well, she'll only get married once in that particular gown! Looks like it has a train a mile long too. You did a great job of getting this shot with all those people in the way.

  12. @Julie " 'littered' which is closer to my true feelings." LOL.

@Virginia "Can't imagine dragging a wedding dress etc. all the way to Paris for a photo." I know it seems like a lot of trouble doesn't it?

@Anne " If it was me having my wedding pictures in Paris I would definitely want the Eiffel Tower included" I'm sure they went there too!

@Nadege "Having the Invalides in the background instead of the Eiffel Tower must be good Feng Shui! " Now that could be an explanation!

@Petrea "Might as well have the wedding in Paris, too!" I was told they actually come and take photos BEFORE the wedding then return home.

@Jeff "Hey: find me a pretty girl who loves and Paris and I'll get married. " OK deal!

@Alexa "Well, she'll only get married once in that particular gown! " True ;-))

@Jeberok "Hope for good weather and sun for sure :)" I hope so for you too, but it started raining this evening... Let's keep our fingers crossed.
