Cool Reflection (part II)

Here is another of these cool reflection images that the rain helps you take! It's not raining at the moment in Paris - it's a shot I took before my departure - but I "heard" on Facebook several Parisians complaining how bad there weather is, so I thought I'd use this shot for today. I hope the sun will shine for the PDP picnic on May 5! FYI, this is a very well known statue of General de Gaulle by Jean Cardot (that I showed several times here already) inaugurated in 2000. As for me, I left Boston and  I'm currently relaxing a nice 76° F, by the pool somewhere in the US... ;-)

  3. Cool reflection, and yes I immediately guessed your secret localization in the Us might be Florida ; well known for its sun and its oranges, which both will give you a good tan and feed you with plenty of vitamins ;)!
    Did I make the point ?
    Self tan cream is on my list in Paris where the weather's more like the one you had while in the Connecticut.
    But first I have had a big orange juice for a morning start... !

    1. Bravo CN! Yes, I just arrived in Florida yesterday evening after a long trip (the plane was diverted because of storms...)

  4. I took a photograph of my wife here last year and it came out as though the General was standing on her head.

    Glad you are enjoying the sun - yes really! I've just looked at the 14 day forecast for Paris - I'm packing my raincoat. However I did note that the the Picnic day is forecast as 'sunny'. I don't trust these forecasts much though.

    1. Especially 14 days in advance! You might as well play the lottery!

  5. IF I could be no where near New York City or Long Island, where the gloomy temperature is hovering just above freezing, I'd be in New Orleans scarfing down beignets and a rum cocktail for breakfast. I just got back from the Big Easy and I miss the humidity and the sun and the warmth like crazy.

    I wish I could be there for the pique-nique on May 5 but I made travel plans for the week after -- and even if it rains for the next month, it'll be Paris rain, and that's A-OK by me.

    1. I know that. But to be honest I'm not big on Holidays; 2 weeks are OK (and I'm not kidding).

  7. I'm guessing Florida too. (I know you're not in NYC, because we've pretty much returned to winter here today!) Love your reflection of General de Gaulle, and hope you didn't get soaked taking it from that angle. :~}

  8. You're definitely not above the 45th parallel like I am if it is 76 degrees!! It's a little colder than that here. But it's a lovely photo of Paris and I can't wait to see it (only 2 more years! LOL Slowly, but surely, the account is growing!)
