Ready for the PDP picnic?

I hear the weather is cold and rainy in Paris at the moment, but I have good hopes it will improve by the end of the week and especially next Sunday when we have the PDP picnic. I still have in mind the usual location (at the end of rue de l'Amiral Coligny, on the river side), but I may change my mind depending on the weather. Stay tuned. In the meantime here is a typical Paris sky photo that I took in the Tuileries gardens. Have a nice Sunday.

  1. Wonderful photo! I love it.

As usual, I won't be at the picnic. Every year I've said, "maybe next year." This year I say the same. I'm saving every available penny.

You are all going to have a marvelous time, regardless of the weather!

  2. I'm not quite sure yet but I probably will not be able to attend the picnic next Sunday. This will be right in the middle of the 2 weeks Parisian school vacation and I will most probably be outside of Paris at this time.

I must be there, in any case, the year you'll come to the picnic, Petrea ; I mean next year ;-)

Nice photo indeed. I love it.

  3. I wonder what gardener first said, "What if we trim the trees so they're square?" Obviously, I'm wishing you have perfect weather for the picnic, and I'll be there in spirit if not in person—again. Sigh.

    1. French gardeners are Cartesian -- straight lines come naturally.

I arrive in Paris two days after le pique-nique, which almost feels worse than not going at all.

  4. I just walked through the Tuileries today. It was the first day of bearable weather since I got here Friday. Cold, but not raining. I had drinks with Drummond and Mai yesterday afternoon, our friends from the 2010 picnic. I hope to see them again here. I also hope it warms up: I had all my cold weather clothes on today.

Still there is plenty to in Paris.
Yesterday we visited the Paris haute couture exhibition at the Hotel de Ville. Fantastic.
Today we went to a concert at La Madeleine by the Brussels Symphony Orchestra. Fantastic.
    We met up with Jeff.
OK, that was fantastic too. :-)
