An American artist in Paris...

On Saturday, among the Nuit Blanche installations that I visited, I also stopped by the Brooklyn, a bar located in the rue Quincampoix (near Beaubourg) for the opening of an exhibition (Lost for words) by Matthew Rose. Matthew is a great American artist who's been living in Paris for a long time; his work is mostly made of collages. Check it out here.

  1. Ah, the artist's life! He's leading it the way so many of us would like to.

  2. It was a fantastic opening and a gift to have Eric drop by to see the work, share a drink and a yak. Yes, the artist's life, but a lot of work, too. Best, Matthew Rose

  3. Just returned from a two-week visit to Paris. So many interesting things to see and do there .... it's mind-boggling. Have been reading your blog for quite some time. Still a novice on my new little iPad, but can't figure out why it will not let me download parisdailyphoto.com so I can view every day. Do you have any suggestions you can impart in a few words?

    2. Thanks, Alexa. I'm very new to my little mini-iPad. Once I turned off Bluetooth, then it opened in a flash on Safari. Bear with me .... I probably pushed a few of the wrong settings when I recently set myself up to connect with the world back home while I was recently in Paris. :-)

  4. I like Matthew's work (and a bar called Brooklyn sounds like my kind of place). :~}
