If it looks good, it tastes good!
I pass by the boulevard Raspail every day on my way home but I discovered this colourful eat in/take away place only recently. I had to stop and make a photo for PDP. If you're in the neighbourhood you might try it (the exact address is 79 Blvd Raspail, in the 6th arrondissement) but I have not tested the food. The risk is limited though; somebody who design her restaurant so nicely cannot be a bad cook! BTW, did you know that colour had an influence on your appetite? Read this.

Hey, that is a cute restaurant! Certainly looks inviting!
ReplyDeleteAtmosphere and presentation of the food on the plate are probably as important to people as the food itself!
Colors remind me of salad and carrot....
ReplyDeleteNice one.
Eric, Blvd Raspail is very, very long! Can you give us the nearest Metro station? Rennes? Saint-Placide? Vavin?
ReplyDeleteThe colors help make it inviting. Great article as well.
ReplyDeleteI thought this cafe (and photo were great). I studied in Paris this January through June and my program's office was located right around the corner from this cafe. Actually, I passed it on my way home every day, too! Have you ever tried Café Wahoo near by? It's on the other side of boulevard Raspail, south of rue de Rennes. It has an orange awning and is fabulous. I miss getting the sandwich mexicana that I got at least three times a week!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for over a year now, getting ready to study abroad, while I was there in Paris, and now after I've gotten back and it's so exciting to see amazing photos of places I know!

Very attractive and its just not the colour - love the bamboo in tubs too.
ReplyDeleteI agree...wonderful colors and general design. As always, great shot, Eric. I am happy to say that I booked my ticket for Paris this week! I will be in Paris October 13th to the 19th. I would love to meet up for coffee if you have time! Thank you again for the wonderful photos of Paris...they inspire me so much!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors. I think I would stop in for some food. I think these small cafe's are one of the things we miss in America.
ReplyDeleteThis study looks a bit like psycho-tests in summer issues of Le Nouvel Observateur…
ReplyDeleteÇa sent la plage, Eric !
What a pretty color combination! I'd already heard that red could make you fell full faster...it has something to do with fooling your brain into thinking you're eating more, I think. I didn't know any of that stuff, though. Eric, you're such a great teacher to the world, always feeding our brains with knowledge!!!
ReplyDeleteEric, Caroline's comments make me think of one of the great reasons why we all love visiting Paris through your photo blog: it puts us right back where we want to be! And Caroline, you make me want to try that sandwich!
ReplyDeleteI like the design elements of this cafe very much. Almost too perfect, though. . .I want to put one of the chairs out of color order ;^). The black withe the brights is very effective. I have to say that inviting design does draw me in, but that a crowded cafe tells me the food is wonderful or a good price or both! Lovely photo!

Nebel, it's right near Rennes Metro station. Caroline, I love hearing from people who have just been there. Last year I stayed across the street from St. Sulpice, heard the choir practicing from my room. This cafe looks inviting and refreshing and I wish I were there right now!
ReplyDeleteHaving worked in the food business I can tell you that presentation can make mediocre food taste lots better (not that I ever made any mediocre food). This place looks so good, I think I need to go make our dinner now! Yum! Yum!
ReplyDeleteHi Eric:
ReplyDeleteWhat I enjoyed of this pic is the colour green lemon of the chairs. Attractive furniture there.
Greetings from Perú.
