Last sunny weekend?

It may be the last sunny weekend before a long time in Paris, so I think it's the perfect day to spend some time at a terrace... Today, let me take you to a very interesting place called La Bellevilloise, in the height of Paris - pretty far from the center, where tourists rarely go. It's a restaurant, bar, exhibition and concert hall... you name it and it's also a place where you can have a very nice view over Paris (even though a few skyscrapers kinda block the scenery!) I highly recommend a trip there if you feel like going out of the beaten paths.

  1. It's still sunny here...I wish it would rain a little. I still sit on my terrace.

  2. How times change. When I lived in Paris, Belleville wasn't the place to go. The restaurant looks lovely.

  4. I'd love to go where tourists don't go. I'd be in disguise, pretending not to be a tourist. lol... what should I wear?

  5. Oftentimes, I'd put on a black trench when I am in Paris. Not that I am pretending, but I have 4-5 trench coats in my wardrobe. I have no choice.

    Je n'ai pas le choix...

Lynn, I have a confession to make. I do pretend not to be a tourist. Trust me, I can speak RP English.

  9. Wow, that's a pretty vignette, Eric! It's hard to tell where things start and end - is that a mirror?

  10. Please don't tell me that this will be the last sunny weekend for a long time. I'm arriving in Paris on Thursday and I'm hoping for some sun. My last trip I had rain and snow.
I may check out this area.. I like going off the beaten path, too. But in Paris the beaten path is pretty special also.

  12. Ah, a neighborhood where you really have to speak French. I will be brave. Ahem. I mean, je serais courageuse.

  14. We've been so lucky with the weather the last few weeks, a couple of not-so-sunny days won't be so bad. But the sun will come back again before winter!

  16. I can recommend it. I went a couple of years ago and there was a band on whose instruments were childrens toy instruments. They sung in English and French.
I think some indie type UK bands also play there .

  17. Looks like a great place to hang out. Like Bibi, I remember living in Paris when Belleville was the last place most people wanted to go. Love it that things have changed and the city seems so much more open.
Hope the good weather holds for your visit, Karen.

  18. Lynn, I kid you not. It is sometimes referred to as Oxford English or BBC English. In Linguistics, RP stands for Received Pronunciation. I know you are just teasing me, aren't you?

  19. Speaking of indie type UK band, La Flèche d’Or is the place to be. I used to hang out there, great fun! Mind you, it is very loud & boisterous inside. Well, we are talking about indie rock & electro...
