Talented painter

I'm not a super fan of galery openings as 1) I don't really appreciate the snobby crowd that generally hangs out there and 2) I get bored very quickly (probably a consequence of the 1st point!). Last evening however, I went to two openings and I actually enjoyed myself. I also discovered very talented people. Like Pierre Alex. the man who made these 6 stunning paintings (I know it's hard to really appreciate them in this photo, but that was not my point...) that I photographed at the wonderful Galery W, in the Abesses area near Montmartre. More about the second opening (including a little surprise!) soon...

  1. Oh! Grand Opening...

    The lady obstructed my view.

  2. Yay—I love surprises! At first glance, I like these paintings too—but I wonder what this woman would have thought if she'd turned around suddenly and seen you on the floor and pointing your camera at her. :~}

  3. Is the guy on the left checking out the paintings or the girl?

  4. ha! Alexa, I was wondering the same thing.
    I liked enlarging this pic to see the details. Very interesting.
    & I can't wait for the surprise Eric. I hope it is tomorrow.

  6. Yay! I love surprises too! I do have to say that I'm more of a "photographs of flowers and buildings" art fancier, but these are interesting, as is the use of the Tenin perspective! Actually, the one behind the man on the left interests me much more. I love color, lots of it and not very many neutrals. Glad you had fun though!!

  7. ...and if she was wearing a mini skirt, you might have been enjoying a breakfast in the Police station. :(

    The way in which the paintings are displayed is reminiscent of childrens' paintings pinned on a classroom wall.
    It's strange and rather silly that a nice frame seems to bestow a feeling of worth to a painting.

    After a proper look at one of the artist's paintings on the gallery website however, I have to say that I find it visually and mentally stimulating, with or without a frame.

  10. @Gramma Ann, Lily Hydrangea, Going Paris and other naughty minds... I'll ask him as this guy is actually Nino, the one who made this last October...

    @Drummond "and if she was wearing a mini skirt, you might have been enjoying a breakfast in the Police station. :(" LOOOOOOOL

    @Tonton "The same gallery that shows Troy Henriksen!!! Ouaaiiisssss!!! ;-)" Yes and Troy was actually there. I even shook hands with him (and I haven't washed my hands since then! ;-)).

  11. With their precise methods of manufacture, the Breitling Watch was always hard to copy and produce replicas. Today's technology has changed this, with anyone determined enough, being able to get the tools needed to make high quality replicas and cloned Bentley Motors T . On a positive note this means that most people can now afford a Chronomat Evolution watch, and with the high standard of these clones, not many will know that you are wearing a replica.
