Le Cyklop

Let me introduce you to Olivier, aka "Le Cyklop". If you're at least a one year follower to PDP, this name should ring a bell as I already talked about him when I photographed one of his early work at Place Saint Sulpice. Le Cyklop uses the Paris bollards and turns them into works of art - especially the round part at their top that he turns into "eyes" (which explains why he calls himself the Cyklop). Nice guy too, I was happy to meet him. See more of his work on his site.

  1. Oh my gosh, those are fantastic! I went to his site and was amazed at how he had turned something to common into little works of art.

  3. @Sharon. What's interesting is that the Town hall agreed to let them "live" for a while, whereas they normally remove all sorts of graffiti (and that counts for Graffiti!)

  6. This is great! I would love to do this here at home, those posts are usually garish colors, and serve little purpose. It would be great to make them pretty!

  7. Oh I love the concept. Olivier paints these cyclop bollards in such an expressive way. This is really amazing. Expressive yes though they remains what they are : poor bollards, but at least beautiful! Sure these "poteaux antistationnement" are well happy that someone took care of them. How very interesting. Yes, Olivier seems very nice.
Eric, this really sounds like you are becoming an expert in street art, at least in Paris. Really cool. Creativeness in the city is like breathing for its inhabitants. I need to breathe. I sometimes feel like I'm almost out of oxygen. So thank you all...

il leur manque juste des ailes pour virevolter à ces petits piquets et ils seraient sacrément joyeux et beaux et libérés ;)

  9. This is definitely the acceptable face of street art.
If I were Emperor of Paris, I'd give them the 'thumbs up' and let them live.
