Vroooom!

No more snow in Paris now, traffic is back to usual, including motorbikes. I was in the 7th arrondissement this morning just by the Ecole Militaire and I took this shot which, of course, is less attractive than the snowy ones, but I like the graphics and the atmosphere. FYI there are more and more 2 wheeled vehicles in Paris and it's no longer legal to park on sidewalks - I got several tickets! Pretty soon I'm sure they will have us pay for the parking in the designated areas...

  1. Great photo! (And the one with the red coat yesterday, too.)

  2. Picasso used the handlebars of a bike to use as the horns of a bull in a sculpture(and he also used the seat for the face).
Today, I see the front of this motorcycle looking like some sort of an insect.I can never look at a cycle now the same way as I did in the past!!!

  5. If this were taken during a different season we'd be criticizing the exhaust coming out of this "insect" wouldn't we? Agree he's headed your way Eric...did he catch you taking his photo?

  6. I absolutely love the way this photo is composed, Eric—it's very sexy! But I'm not at all sorry that you can't park on the sidewalk any more. After all, if I can't walk in the street . . .

  7. By the way Eric, as you know, I hardly ever read the title to your photos (don't know why, just zoom straight in on the pic). Anyway, I wanted to tell you how much I LOVE the word "Vroooom"! It looks and sounds like whatever it is used to describe. Bravo on your English (as always). Wish my French were as good!

  8. They let you park motorbikes on the sidewalk before?? Wow, that would never happen here. I think you were lucky for a long time there.
    Great picture as always.

  9. And here I thought this was you, Eric, with the black leather jacket, looking all cool and high tech. :) I think when I visit Paris it will be the Metro for me!! I drove through Atlanta on the highway last weekend, and that was enough city driving for me for quite some time. Bravo, Eric!

  10. Oh, cripes, PHX! You're right! Now I'll never look at one of these the same way again either. And the buzzing, that horrible buzzing. Look at the malevalent look in its beady eyes. Its like one of those huge magnified photos that show up later on in your dreams. Aaaaaahhhhhh......

  11. LOL, Carrie, I never thought about the buzz that goes along with it like you said!!!!!
