I already explained the pigeons situation in Paris in this post and in the meantime I discovered that according to a law (the sanitary code, art. 120) it is forbidden to feed the pigeons in our Capital. And though, I suppose this moment is probably one of the main highlights in the day of this old lady. It is silly but this picture moves me!

More seriously, pigeons are a real problem in towns. But I can't forget this part of "Mary Poppins" where an old woman feed pigeons. So tender...

It is, indeed, very touching, and shows the loneliness of this old lady, whose only friends are probably those pigeons.

Eric, every picture you show makes me want to visit Paris all the more. My heart goes out to this woman. I remember when it became illegal to feed the pigeons in Jackson Square in New Orleans. I missed the pigeons, but not the mess they created.
Sometimes it seems that every freedom we exercize infringes on the freedom of someone else.
