Jean-Paul Gaultier

During my visit to the Musée des Arts de la Mode (fashion art) located in the musée des Arts Décoratifs , I took advantage of having a drawing made of me by none other than fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier. You see my name? That proves it doesn’t it? Ok, well you’ll have to see for yourself, but hurry, this special exhibit celebrating the collaboration between this famous couturier and renowned choreographer Régine Chopinot is only running until 23 September 2007. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
PS: I am currently on vacation so I cannot reply to your comments. I'll read them when I return, on May 7.

  1. Wow what a great drawing. Eric you lucky thing to see these. Love the 'Eric'!
Jean Paul Gaultier - how topical for me today - is my favourite perfume and i ran out this morning. My beautiful lady-shaped bottle has been sprayed dry of the last fantastic drop. Whatever shall i do now? One just cannot survive with J P G.

  2. I recognized you, Eric, immediately. I have seen many drawings of you by Tom of Finland, also. The focus of his drawings of you always emphasized your best feature. Don't you agree? LOL

  3. Lynn, Check out Tallulah Bankhead on Wikipedia. She was fascinating in a bawdy kinda way. So wild, so wonderful.

  4. ...I don't know about that Eric... I mean I'm sure you would inspire many drawings but this guy with this cap looks like a Village People chap to me!

  5. Eric, you didn't fool me for a second. You are MUCH more handsome than that! All though I'm sure your muscles are totally that insanely large, what with all the running around Paris and lifting your camera up and down constantly. What a workout that must be!

  8. I agree with monica - definitely Village People overtones there!!!

Happy holidays but tell me - when you get home - where does someone who lives in Paris go on holidays??? We all wish we could holiday in Paris EVERY year!!!

  9. I will Johnny! I don't think we'll get to hear WHERE Eric has gone, Jules. He's such an enigma isn't he. Gives us a little morsel of detail here, a hint there, and then... nothing. Likes to leave us wanting. lol.

  10. Jules PNG wonders where people who live in Paris go on holiday! Well, I don't know if I can speak for Eric, but as a dedicated photographer of Paris in a similar vein I experience a strange phenomenon when I go abroad... I'm not particularly inspired to take pics! It's weird but only Paris seems to inspire me photographically, and I love the inspiration and insights which Eric offers every day, even if I am often rather jealous!

  12. I think Eric went to San Francisco. He mentioned that he was going there a few weeks ago, so I guess he is in the bay area by now...

  13. I knew instantly that it was you, Eric, the resemblance is uncanny. Good to know the camera and "Harley- Davidson" were left out in the cloak room !!
Je vous souhaite des vacances très heureuses.

  14. This is exactly how I want to spend the rest of my life...y'know, just sail around Paris, going from Musee to Musee...an exhibition there, a spectacle there...Oh la la!! Instead, I'm stuck in the merde here in SF...busy, busy, busy!! Merci pour the "pose culturel" Eric!! So refreshing...and much needed!!

johnnyparsons...catching up on posts I saw you mentioned.."Lifeboat"...one of my favorite films!! J'adore Hitchcock...and using a Cartier bracelet as bait to catch a fish...really...only Tallulah could pull that one off!! Too much!! LOL!!!

  16. Hi, folks, home now, just getting on the machine to check mail, etc. This drawing represents what the party turned into on the 27th. Remember what Eric said about debauchery etc? Yes, I am in the party photo from the 27th, no problem, Michael. No sign of Philly: I left a message her hotel but she didn't responed. Ain't that just like a woman? I hope she's having fun despite missing the chic soiree of the year.

  17. Oh, by the way, the party was really fun. Thanks, Eric, for getting us together. It was nice to meet Nahal and Elisabeth, and nice to get reacquainted with Eric, Michael, and Laure. If I get my act together I'll send some good photos to Eric and maybe he can create a link for all of you curious star gazers!

  18. Welcome back Jeff - please do send the photos to Eric so that we can see more of the fete. One photo was not enough! What were the highlights of your trip?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jeff that's great and all, but who are YOU in that photo? There's more then one chap there... are you standing up or are you the other guy?

Great to know you had a fun time in Paris and even more fun with the whole bunch. I thought Philly would show up. I don't know who the other girls are - Elisabeth and Laure - were they with Michael and Eric??!! I know I know, not my business but I am curious, sorry!!!
